Why Photoshop?
Photoshop is the most commonly used editing and compositing software because it has the depth of color functionality of a professional grade image processing program. Its features also include the ability to manipulate your image in three-dimensional space, making the program an essential tool in product design.
Photoshop is a powerful tool, but you need to understand how it works and what your limitations are to be able to use it to its greatest advantage. This book teaches you a wide variety of techniques — tips, tricks, and techniques that you can apply to your own images. In this book, I introduce you to the ins and outs of digital photo editing; details about how Photoshop works; and how to use Photoshop to create beautiful images.
Getting Started With Photoshop
Before you can start editing images in Photoshop, you’ll need a photo to edit. Once you’ve imported your photo you can start editing in Photoshop Elements.
First, you’ll need to open the photo you want to edit. To do this, you can click the File button in the top-left corner of the window and navigate to your photo. Alternatively, you can drag the photo to the window directly using your mouse, which takes you straight to the photo. Once you’ve found your photo, simply click on the image in the window to start editing.
Once you’ve imported a photo you can start editing in Photoshop Elements.
You can save and close your file in the bottom-right corner of the window.
You can also find the file you’re currently editing in the bottom-left corner. Hovering over this file will show a small preview of the image. You can edit this file by double-clicking on the file to bring up the editing interface.
You can also open the file directly from the file menu at the top-left corner of the window. To open a new file, click on File and then New. You can then find the file on your PC by navigating to it using the File Explorer.
You can also copy a file to your hard drive by right-clicking on the file to bring up a context menu. From this menu you can drag a file onto your desktop to save it to your hard drive.
Using Photoshop Elements
Once you’ve opened a photo in Photoshop Elements you can either edit or print it.
Editing
Editing an image in Photoshop Elements is very simple. Click on one of the tools on the left-hand side to edit your image. These tools include the Pencil tool, Brush tool, Eraser tool, Blending tool and the Transform tool.
The Pencil tool allows you to draw directly over an area of your photo, which will automatically be highlighted. You can use this tool to edit anything from drawing lines around text, to drawing your own text.
The Brush tool lets you draw directly over areas of the photo, which creates an effect on the rest of the photo.
The Eraser tool can also be used to remove parts of an image by clicking and dragging away small parts until the area is completely gone.

A pesar de que el Banco Central publicó el bajón de su rango promedio de tasas de interés en un 7.15%, el día de ayer por la tarde de la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público fue diferente, ya que la tasa de interés más alta fue del 19,8% en la matriz principal de acciones con restricción de compra.
Eso sí, el rendimiento del PIB reportado por el órgano presidencial para el segundo trimestre de 2017 fue de 1,6 por ciento, más que el 1,3 por ciento del primer trimestre.
En la subasta de Abril, Axxion, Acredita, Banorte, Bancomer, Bank of America, BBVA, Itaú, Santander y Vázquez Rocha subió el rango de sus tasas de interés a un 15.54%; aumentó el número de tasas de interés elevados a 132, pero hubo dos que caían: el que opera el Banco del Pueblo y el que domina la Unión Europea.

Migrant media, including Wikipedia contributors, should document the journey they embark on when entering a new country, according to a proposal launched by researchers at the University of Cambridge and Falmouth University.
The study, carried out by Dr Anna-Maria Trevett from the university’s School of Slavonic and East European Studies and Dr Ben Highmore from the university’s School of Anthropology and Conservation, has explored migration in two of the world’s most populous countries – Pakistan and Turkey – and the risk of information that can be published as free content on the World Wide Web being spread illegally.
‘We’ve shown that we have evidence that at least the majority of contributors to the English-language Wikipedia are migrants. There’s a large global audience willing to pay for non-free content but that traffic has increased for free content from other sources, for example Indian companies that are uploading videos to the internet for a fee.’
Researchers from the Department of Archaeology at Cambridge investigated Turkish Wikipedians while those from Cambridge’s Homerton College investigated Pakistani Wikipedians and looked at the type of information and language they were creating.
‘We’ve found that in a group where over a quarter of the contributors were migrants, they were creating information with a structure and intention different to the rest of the community and that this was more likely to be spread than other types of content. The extent of this and what people gain from it are open questions.’
While some of the content was shared on Facebook or other sites, researchers found that content created and uploaded by migrants was uploaded to the Free & Open Source Software Foundation (FOSSF) site which then provided many of those visitors with access to it. Researchers found ‘the level of participation of migrant workers in the online world has been slower than for native English speakers but this content is being shared at a large scale in a way that I would not have imagined happening several years ago.’
While the authors suggest, at this early stage, that the impact of illegal sharing of content is still fairly minimal, Professor Chris Green, director of the Cambridge Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities at Cambridge University and chair of the steering committee of the FOSSF, said that this research has ‘raised interesting questions’ and it was important that the scholarly community ‘be involved in addressing these issues to the benefit of the full internet community.�
