Before you can install Photoshop, you need to download it from the Adobe website. Go to their website and select the version of Photoshop that you want to install. Then, download the software and store it on your computer.

Go into your user folder and open up the downloaded file you just downloaded. If you have a Windows 8 computer, you may have to disable your antivirus or firewall to open the file, depending on your security settings. Once you have the file opened, go into the folder where it is located and right click on it to open it. The file will open a window that will have a “read me” option where you can read the help files that will explain how to install the software.

With the first version of the consumer-level editor, Adobe reinvented how you edit photographs for the web. Designers and web developers came to take advantage of Photoshop’s powerful selection tools, image retouching, cropping, and creative effects. Version 8.0, known as “Creative Cloud for Designers,” brings these building blocks to an even wider audience, using Adobe’s AI technology to make copy-paste and selection tools more intelligent. Elements, Adobe’s free photo editor, continues to make quick work of simple jobs, and features powerful retouching, special-effects, and export tools. Choose from 19 different preset Styles for fast, consistent results, or customize your fill options in the Layers panel. Features can be dragged and dropped to create your own state-of-the-art designs, from basic single-color effects to complex pixel mashups. Improved World Machine, a 3D-like mode lets you take images and objects in your image editor and place them in a 3D space. A lot of these sophisticated features are only accessible to professionals, however. The new Edit in Swatches feature makes it possible to take a quick look at any number of colors and color gradients in Photoshop without fiddling with the swatch tool or looking at the color key. There is no need to spend time looking up or finding the right colors, or chatting about colors with colleagues.

Selections, adjustments and retouching are three core processes in professional image editing. Unfortunately, this means that Photoshop is quite heavy and there are many steps involved to perform these operations. With the CS5 release there are more steps to perform, including custom adjustments and keywording, making it more of a pain than it should be. The Create Custom Adjustment or Adjustment tab has been removed to make adjustments more accessible. Photographers new to Photoshop might not realize how much time is saved by being able to adjust each individual adjustment, like location and white balance, right from the document itself.

With the release of the Creative Cloud desktop app, I can do all this in Photoshop and then send the adjusted layer to anyone else in my workspace or on the web. We can work together on the same document and it will look and work the same.

Adobe Photoshop has three components that must be installed: the Photoshop application, Photoshop CC, and the Photoshop Express Cloud app. There are two versions of Photoshop available: Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.

Merged Layers: Merged layers make your file a lot more manageable in an image. A lot of times, things are often stored in layers and so they are a big plus when you are working with a reasonably complex project.

With every version of Photoshop, it has introduced some new and useful features to the product. Whatever the new features are they are integrated into the existing workflow. Photoshop has always been a user-centric product and has evolved along the same lines. You work on it and use it on a daily basis and see when a new feature is introduced that enhances the existing or the new workflow. In the current version, Photoshop 2017 delivers more than two dozen usability change, including:

• Multi Select tool – A new tool that precisely selects all the selected parts of an image, and removes selected pieces of an image with just the click of a button;
• Fill and Replace tool – A new fill and replace tool that can be used with every tool available in Photoshop – along with new sophisticated matching technology that makes it easy to replace objects with more specific replacements in a variety of different situations. The tool replaces the existing object with the replacement based on its color, texture and layout;
• The “Browse for images,” “Choose from libraries”, “Save to a shared location,” “Convert to a smart object,” “Adjust color modes” and “Look up a color” are some new modern tool features that provide better user experience;
• Along with the introduction of new features, the 2017 version of Photoshop also adds new modes like InDesign mode, desktop drafting mode, and an improved “Speed up workflow” with the ability to divide one layer into up to five individual layers.
