I was excited to learn that since version 7.0, alpha, we can now really easily extract any tool or Brush from a content document. And, the masks they make allow to easily change the opacity of any layer or adjustment to specific values, which is a feature that’s been in Photoshop since very, very long time.

Each time an image containing transparent and/or mask layers is opened in Photoshop, an alternate view appears to make it easier to navigate and modify the layers and masks used to make complete image. The Edit Layers dialog is an excellent set of tools to perform all of your basic edits and this set of tools comes with Photoshop too. Note the Set Transparency option under Adjust menu, where we can easily decrease or increase the transparency of any layer. The shadows and highlights are now more clearly visible. In the Color Range panel, the user can create a mask on a specific color range and change the opacity of this range. It is crazy that you can do this without making any adjustment – with a single click. This is something that we’ve been waiting for a long time for.
