Dead Island: Riptide is the story of a man and his companions, who are drawn into a conflict between two factions of humans fighting over the future of the planet. Jim Marshall has an acquired taste for the thrill of human vs. human conflict, as witnessed on the football field of his youth, and his willingness to take part in the violence infects those around him.
When he decides to spend a summer vacation in the Great Barrier Reef where he intends to spear a whale and has “one of the longest spears in the world”, Jim and his companions Joab, Em and Garret are captured by a group of fishermen, who reveal to them the fate that awaits the rest of humanity. The survivors are to be preserved as livestock in an underground facility.
Joab and Em have just made it out of the Jack Sewer alive and decide to jump ship. Jim follows them, but is not entirely convinced by their plan. Together they will have to seek help from the isolated Bob Marley, aka Redbeard, after they are captured by a group of fishermen. They are taken aboard the Youkawa, a massive ship where they will be hunted by a group of former dancers and fishermen.
Game Revolution had a chance to talk with Team Ninja Game Director and Studio Director Hideki Kamiya, regarding the upcoming Dead Island: Riptide and what it means for the series.
GR: I’ve been waiting for a new installment in the Dead Island series. How is Dead Island: Riptide different?
Hideki Kamiya: The gameplay is completely new. The emphasis here is on survival, even though there are monsters in this game. Since it is a different genre and style, one of the elements I wanted to work on was introducing a new style of gameplay. I wanted to emphasize a survival gameplay element on par with survival horror or survival sandbox games. Along with that I really focused on a story of zombies, together with a new type of protagonist – Jim, who is an ordinary guy.
I wanted to make a game that allows players to enjoy these elements of survival and zombie games, so while maintaining what the series is known for, I added these features to it. Players will be able to enjoy the survival aspect of it and have a great time with zombies.
In previous Dead Island games, the player entered the story in the player’s home. This time the player enters the story in the middle of the action.

Story mode
No matter the order you reach the Acts in, the main story of Divinity: Original Sin 2 can be played out in a number of different ways. You can tackle the game in any order you choose, and follow more than two characters through their stories!
The more companions you bring, the more options you have. Including Sir Lora the Squirrel as a companion will give you access to options never before seen in the game.
You can choose to go it alone and face the game alone, or you can recruit other Heroes to accompany you throughout the game. Explore the depths of a living world, encounter powerful bosses, form bonds with other companions, and try to clear the story of Sin.
A living world
Relive the story of Tamriel in a living world – every enemy, ally, and background character is visible and plays a role in the unfolding narrative.
Characters you meet in the city of Divinity: Original Sin 2 that do not play any part in your main quest can be put to use in several ways.
Explore the city of Fort Joy – enter the government district, fight off a rampaging bunch of thieves, or finish off an old foe to start the process of recruiting them.
Many of the characters in the game are hostile towards other heroes. These enemies can be recruited to go on quests for you, give you tips, offer you items, provide you with a fight, and even become allies after the war is over.

Overview
Sir Lora is a squirrel fleeing the Knights of Drey, an apocalyptic order of furry knights who believe in the coming of the Great Acorn. Hell join you in Fort Joy (along with his undead cat mount) and follow you through your adventure, sharing his wit, wisdom, apocalyptic warnings, and even some skill-crafting secrets.
Narrative
Sir Lora
Sir Lora is a side character in the main storyline of Divinity: Original Sin 2. He plays an important role during the final chapters of the main storyline. Sir Lora takes us to the village of Kingdom in the Pavis region. You are going to meet Tundegar, a bard who is crazy about music, and later on you will discover that his story is as complex as his music. Tundegar is the town crier in Kingdom. He used to be an apprentice of Amandus, a magical bard who lived in the Kingdom centuries ago, but now he is not what he used to be.
Sir Lora can join your main character and become his companion. The choice of companion is not as easy as it might seem. It takes some thought and is not something to rush.
Sir Lora will become your familiar, just like the apprentice Amandus. You can dress him up like a squirrel, like his name suggest, but you can also make him into a dog or a cat, even though if you choose to do this you cannot call him Sir Lora. If you choose a different color combination then he will become Sir Lora instead of Sir Lora the Squirrel.
Just keep in mind that Sir Lora cannot talk as you can and has a very limited range of actions. He does not have the range of movement that the player character has and he does not have a spellbook or anything like this. He has the boar mount that was released with the game. He has some special abilities, but not as much as if he were your player character. He cannot open doors, etc. But he can help you in the game. He can give you keys or shows you where to find something.
Sir Lora always has his boar mount with him. His name is Lora and he is a pardine. The mount is his only form of transportation, just like the player character. He has the mount at all times. He does not lose his mount if you die or if you fall. However, if you
