Photoshop: What to Know
Photoshop is a raster graphics editing program that uses a layer-based editing system. Unlike some other graphics editors, Photoshop is used by professionals for editing photographs, photographs and graphics.
However, Photoshop is often mistakenly associated with creating graphics for the web. This is because of one of the default file types — GIF. But Photoshop can also edit any type of image.
The program has over 10 million downloads on the macOS, Windows and Chromebook platforms.
Here is what you need to know to take advantage of the program’s features.
1. The Layers Panel
This is the main tool used for manipulating images. You can open layers in the panel as well as add them to the layers stack.
The layers panel is divided into three sections:
The Layers Panel Show layers.
Lock layers.
Layers panel.
You can move, resize and rotate layers in the panel as well as lock them. A Lock layer allows you to lock specific layers and manipulate them in other ways.
You can create new layers in the layers panel.
The initial layers panel is split into two spaces; one is for active layers and the other is for layers in stacks.
The active layers and stacks are displayed across from one another. You can access the stacks by clicking on the name at the top of the panel or by clicking on Layer Options in the tools panel.
2. The Tool Panel
This panel contains most of the Photoshop tools for manipulating images, such as the Pen tool and various selection tools. These include the Rectangular Selection tool and Selecting Polygons, Rectangles and More tools.
The tools available in the tool panel vary depending on your version of Photoshop.

The button to the right of the tool panel can be customized for different tool options. You can enable or disable the stroke pen, work on an individual path or shape, and work on an individual element.
3. The Photoshop Brushes Panel
Photoshop includes a collection of various brushes to edit images in different ways. You can use them to create new designs and patterns.
You can access the brushes panel by clicking on the top of the panel.
The brushes panel is divided into six sections. You can navigate the brushes and import new brushes from Adobe Stock.

We will start with the photo you want to edit and then work our way through the different editing techniques in Photoshop Elements.

1. Import the photo
Open Photoshop Elements and drag the photo file to the Photoshop Elements window.
Click on the photo to select it. On the Edit tab, click on Open.
The photo is now imported into the Edit pane.
You can find the photo in your photo library. If not, you can import it from your hard drive.
Important: when importing a photo, you need to select the image resolution at which you want to import it in Photoshop Elements.
2. Zoom in and crop
As it’s a small photo, you might want to zoom in to get a closer look.
Make sure you have enough space around the image to crop it. (Here, I have around 15MB of available space left over.)
Click the Zoom button at the top left of the screen to activate the zoom tool.

Use the Selection tool to crop the photo
Select the crop tool (the white arrow) and the crop tool is replaced by the Selection tool. The crop tool is only displayed in the Edit pane and not in the Layers pane.
To select the crop tool, simply click on the tool.
After you have cropped the photo, make sure you are zoomed in to 100%.
Click the Zoom tool at the top left of the screen to deactivate the zoom.
3. Rotate, Straighten and Filter the photo
The photo is now rotated. If you zoom in now, you should be able to see that the background is more transparent.

How to install Python packages for individual users in Server 2008 and Windows 7
I’m running a Windows Server 2008 Standard and I have several users accessing the services. This server hosts Joomla! and I’m getting the following error when I try to access any of the Joomla! content:
You don’t have permission to access /admin/index.php on this server
I think this might be because of one of my users (e.g., ubuntu1) installing Python packages by following a quick guide on the web. I think he may have installed packages that conflict with the Joomla! web application. I want to uninstall the packages for this user only.
How can I remove all the packages installed by ubuntu1?

It’s possible in PowerShell.
Remove-Module Python
Then remove the packages.
Remove-Module Python -RemoveDependencies
Then remove any further dependencies of that module that were installed with it.
Proposal intended to highlight at-risk women in rural areas to prevent substance abuse: results of a pilot survey.
Although substance abuse is a serious problem among rural women, little is known about the factors associated with the behavior. The purpose of this study was to explore the influence of psychological, behavioral, and physical factors on women’s substance use. To address this purpose, the authors developed a survey instrument consisting of a demographics questionnaire, measures of the psychological, behavioral, and physical aspects of drug use, and questions assessing attitudes and beliefs about the use of drugs. The survey was distributed to 105 women during routine prenatal visits at a hospital in rural western North Carolina. Women were predominantly African American and poor. Most women in the sample (52.4%) reported that they had used alcohol within the past 30 days, and 21.4% reported an alcohol use disorder. Only one third of the sample (34.3%) reported being currently pregnant. Multiple logistic regression models indicated that vulnerability to drug use was associated with rural status and history of abuse. In turn, the data suggested that a majority of the women in the sample (81.0%) rated alcohol use as not beneficial to a pregnant woman. The authors conclude that vulnerable women living in rural communities may be unaware of the dangers of alcohol and drug use during pregnancy. To begin to address this potential problem, providers of prenatal care in rural areas should address alcohol and drug use during their counseling efforts.Q:

Packers’ Graham arrested for bar fight, end of season
Green Bay — Aaron Rodgers announced in his season-ending news conference that third-string quarterback Tim Flanders would start for the Packers in the final two regular-season games. He also said backup quarterback Graham Harrell will be ready to play if needed this week.
The news conference turned rather dramatic when a reporter asked the quarterback if there would be room in the locker room for a player “who has done a lot for the team” after the season.
“Not right now,” Rodgers said. “Graham has been a really good teammate. At times we’ve talked about that. In the future, you never know. He’s done a lot of good things.”
Flanders will start Monday night at Chicago in place of quarterback Jake Locker, who is out with an injured right quadriceps muscle.
Harrelson waits on Packers
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Monday that Harrell, who has been working as the team’s sixth defensive back, has “a chance to be able to play” if he is needed for the Packers’ finale at Chicago.
But the fifth-year quarterback expects to be the starter next season, when he will be entering his contract year. Harrell is among those quarterbacks who could be taken by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 6 pick in April’s draft.
“I’ll be back next year,” Harrell said. “My future is with the Packers, I’m going to be here next year.”
If Harrell plays for the Packers against the Bears, he wouldn’t be eligible to play in the postseason.
Packers rookie receiver Jeff Janis said he isn’t worried about playing in his first game of the season with his hometown team.
