Howdy! My name is Celeste, I am currently the Project Leader at the moment and have been involved with this for the past 3 years.
I am a huge fan of the platforming genre, I have previously worked on a web-based platforming game called Gleam, which was a big part of my final University dissertation. I also have some experience with team-based games in the mobile space, such as Big Trail, where I worked on the 2D platforming component.

Hey! I’m currently the Programmer and I have been with this since the very beginning! I came onto the discord a few months ago to work on a new feature for the game that has recently been added. I have programmed the engine for the game and have been working on the core mechanics since then.
I like to think of myself as a bit of a fanatic when it comes to the shooting genre, I’ve been playing games for a very long time and have recently transitioned over to play indie games on steam. I’ve recently started working on games myself and my main project at the moment is ‘Light Blaster’, a top-down action platformer/shooter.
I’m the main programmer for the game, and like to be able to make every line of code I write actually do something, and not just something (for example, I once spent 4 hours trying to get a block to fall for the correct time in the game engine, figuring out the logic to make it happen in a nice and orderly way). I usually test my code extensively to ensure it does what it’s meant to do, and also break it to test it’s extents.
I really love the indie gaming scene (I also spend a lot of time on a retro gaming discord), so I definitely look up to the other developers on discord and the other communities like [Bleep]

XERA: Survival is the realization of a dream since 1989 to create the ultimate base-building, open world, action-oriented FPS game – a blend of ARMA-style tactical FPS, with elements of ESO-style MMO.
We have 15+ years of MMO, single player and other games industry experience and a collective passion for games that are new, innovative and fun to play.
The game is currently in alpha, and we are aiming for Early Access on Steam – XERA will be much more than a game, it will be a world you can travel to and explore.
Focusing on the great things our team has done to create a world that is fun to play – balancing, combat, crafting, in-game events, settlements, story, side quests, monsters, NPCs, collectables, vehicles and weapons, it’s all there and it’s all working well.
These are big ideas, but from the work we have done so far, we are proud to release XERA: Survival to the world at E3 as a free Steam Early Access game – a finalist in the IGF E3 Award for Best Indie Game, to get feedback and validation from those with the means to help us take the game to the next level.
Enemies:
As the name implies, the main enemy are the Robotic Soldiers, combat droids that have escaped the deconstruction program and are hellbent on destroying mankind and have now grown into a massive horde.
In what was once the town of XERA our citizens are in hiding and still waiting for the authorities to show up.
The Robotic Soldier presence has set up two forward operating bases, in which there are no rules of engagement.
The only imperative is survival.
Our Mechanics:
Our core mechanic is base building.
If you build a good stronghold it is a safe place to do missions, recruit more troops and scavenge supplies.
Bases also have access to fuel and water, making them a safe place to do missions in when there are no other safe zones.
Our first major update will include mission design (desecration – where you face off against robotic soldiers in a fight to the death), settlements, campaign (a mission driven campaign) and a vehicle system.
Visually the game is a mix of real life and technology; industrial materials, steel and glass give the game a high contrast look and feel, with light and shadow to give depth to each area you enter.

Tanzia thermophila, the colossal cichlid, is a species of cichlid fish in the tribe Cichlasomatini, from the family Cichlidae. The generic name comes from the Tanzanian binomial Tanzia which means “river basin”. The colossal cichlid (also known as the ship’s bream or the ship’s bass or the bream cichlid) is endemic to Lake Victoria in Africa and is the largest of Lake Victoria’s large and small cichlids.
Despite the small immediate range and present population of the species, it is considered Near Threatened by the IUCN Red List. It is very similar to the local species Mectostoma petersii and is likely to be treated identically by fishers and scientists.
Characteristics
The colossal cichlid grow to a length of 18 to 20 inches, with a maximum weight of 3.5 to 4.5 pounds. It is one of three largemouth bass cichlids in Africa; the other two being Mectostoma petersii and Chilogyrus vogelli. It is the largest cichlid ever recorded from Lake Victoria.
Colossal cichlids have moderately large mouth and feeding apertures. The skin is silver-gray and covered by large black spots, which are highlighted as the fish moves. A purple vascular pattern is seen on the abdomen of mature individuals, which is characteristic of adult cichlids.
A number of distinguishing features exist for the colossal cichlid. Unlike most Nile cichlids, this species is found in sunlit waters. It has no vestigial teeth in the edge of its lower jaw, and the cichlid’s jaws contain 34-39 teeth. Its pharynx can be a distinctive shape, being approximately three times larger than in other species within the Cichlasomatini.
