i just bought one yesterday and i love it. it makes handling much easier and the windshield adds to the fun factor. i’ll definitely be getting a few more when i see them on sale. for my first time ever, i also used it for the first time while riding. perfect. i didn’t even need any warnings about doing it. i didn’t even have to ask anyone first. this is the perfect product.

i think they should make all touring bikes have this as standard equipment. it makes the bike so much more fun and enjoyable. it should be standard equipment for all touring bikes. the windshield is perfect for a bike like mine.

i have been looking for a windshield for a long time. this one looks very good and is a good price. it took my 55 mile drive to work today with the windshield on without a problem. i really like it. i wish i would have gotten one when i bought my ride.

so far, so good. we gave the rear brake lever a twirl with a foot tucked inside, and it felt like we were a distant and minor third wheel to our friend in the back seat. it seemed like the chassis wouldnt move unless the front brake was applied. from there, it seems like this bike might be a little finicky without a tug from the side stands.

while relatively stable on the tight switchbacks, it seemed a little soft and jumpy across the tall dips. also, the handlebar isnt so sturdy if youre a shorter rider. the grips are slightly too wide to feel natural, and the full grips look pretty low down on the bars for those of us with short arms. lastly, after finally breaking the long silence during testing, it became clear that the top is a little awkward for novices and would have to be replaced with a tighter fitting top.

heres what happened when we installed a new thickest battery to date into this already stout flare. we gutted it, shot it for size, and went to the local bike shop to pop it in place. the flare battery sits on the top deck, over the kick start lever and rear brake lever, and was completely surrounded by rubber to protect it from sharp edges. we also added a clamp to ensure the flare kit is securely in place and not flappin around.
we still have to give the msds flywheels a try. with their lower price tag, if they are as solid as what weve been getting, then a great solution for honda lovers. the wheels remain fully adjustable as well, with 8.5-9.5 forks at the front and 8.5-10.5 at the back. everything fits tight, and there are only two bolts to tighten. we love the msd wheels for their one-year warranty, and that they can be retrofitted.
its easy to see that the sohc engine is the core of this bike, and it never had an issue with fuel. on the long and winding stretches of this snowy day, it wasnt even a tight squeeze at all for us. as we rode along, the usual elation of rough riding was suddenly replaced with the attention needed to keep the bike steady. coming off the top of a hill, the bike effortlessly rolled down the other side, the accelerator set to the floor without a complaint. still, as much as we loved it, we couldnt justify putting over 2,000 miles on it.
the crisp and clean sound of the sohc engine is intoxicating. its easier to notice on the highway, but we enjoyed it on the mountainous switchbacks as well. it gives the bike a slightly more aggressive sound, and the throttle response is very linear, without any choppy hiccups.
