SHOUTINGGADGET GAME REVIEW
If you’ve spent time at all on the various XBLA and Steam communities, you’ve probably seen this game being talked up like crazy. People are gushing over this and it’s not entirely because of the game’s great scoring or very addictive gameplay, but because the game is just plain pretty. The minimalist art style and love of classic gaming has led to the game (which is a little over six minutes long) being labeled as art – which it definitely is, but in a very subtle way.
The Developer
Blue Fire is developed by ShoutingGadget, a fairly new indie studio consisting of two guys who had a vision for a game that was more than just a mindless shooter with lots of guns, but instead a game where you can truly be a creator.
Blue Fire manages to be a little bit of everything and none of it is bad at all. The bit where you are thrust into the midst of a sci-fi inspired world that promotes creative thinking is nice and can offer a lot of satisfaction when you succeed.
ShoutingGadget almost seemed to be making a tutorial for the game, showing you where everything is and that it’s really very simple. Everything is intuitive and clear. Perhaps you were worried that it was simple because it looked simple, but the developers did a really good job of making it simple in a way that is easy to get into and pick up. They also did a really good job of quickly showing off the movesets that will be vital to making your team as successful as possible – Blue Fire does some interesting things with its gameplay and team building that set it apart from many games in this genre.
Gameplay
Blue Fire is a 2D action shooter with a little puzzle element to it as well. In this game you play as Joel, an unnamed guy in the distant future
MIneDrill Redux is an endless game for free, where you can explore randomly generated worlds, make friends and build amazing structures to survive underground. While exploring, you can drill to find ores that will help you craft new tools and more.
From mining to crafting, you can do it all with one of the two drills you have at your disposal. The second drill is upgraded with new items throughout the game.
Start out with only 1 drill, but you can always upgrade it to make your exploring even better!
As you get into the game, you will find ores you can use for crafting or sell and use the proceeds for new upgrades or new tools.
Crafting is done by using a drill to mine ore from the ground, and then using the found ore in the crafting table to craft new upgrades that are needed for the other drill.
Randomly generated worlds means you never know what’s around the next corner! While the world does generate randomly, you will need to craft the right drill and tools to survive.
Start off with only a hammer and pickaxe, but as you explore you will find new items you can craft or sell to buy more drill upgrades.
Build you home in the world you are currently in, and when you are ready to go explore other worlds!
The game is free to play, but you can spend your hard earned ores on new items for your drill and upgrade! You can also spend ores on random cosmetic items.
You can also create worlds with your friends and have them follow you back.
The game has 3 achievements, each unlocked by finishing the 3 worlds you start off in.
You can also try out the game in a 2 player co-op mode, and play one of the two players’ characters using the same keyboard and mouse!
The game has an info menu so you can see more about what you can do in the game and how it works.
Players can create new Steam accounts and log into their accounts, in which players can have multiple computers at once.
The developer also has plans to add a countdown timer in the info menu so you can see how much longer you have until you get back to where you left off.

Hotaru is a difficult space style shoot ’em up with different waves of enemies, bosses and power-ups.
The game has many choices, starting from two options. After you choose the color of your main ship, you can choose to be aggressive, go left, or go right.
If you want to change your ship color, you can change the color of the one you have equipped in the ship menu.
You have to press fire to shoot and jump to change directions. You have an unlimited supply of bullets to shoot enemies. If you hit them, you can use special power-ups.
There are three different stages to complete, each stage with different enemies, bosses and power-ups.
As you complete the stages, you get power-ups and save your progress at the end of each stage.
After you complete the game, you can compete your best score to get the trophy.
ControlsHotaru:
The game has a colorful and fun main screen where you are able to read the information about your progress and to play different levels.
You can navigate through the levels by clicking on the different levels using the arrow keys.
At the top you can choose the wave of enemies you are going to encounter, the color of your ship and the difficulty of the level.
The power-ups and a direction you can press to shoot appear at the right of the levels.
You can press Fire to shoot bullets or the up arrow key to shoot your missiles or the down arrow key to shoot your laser beams.
TipsHotaru:
Start the game by choosing your ship’s color in the ship menu. After you finish the tutorial, the levels will appear.
If you want to change the ship color, use the up and down arrow keys to move the ship between different levels.
If you are having a hard time with the first level, you can replay the levels by pressing F6. You can also save your progress at the end of each level.
If you complete a level, you will be able to access the next one.
If you have killed all of the enemies on a level, you will be able to select the level you are going to encounter and you will be able to enter the next level.
The mission and the obstacles are increasing as the game progress.

A reborn Old World of only a handful of kingdoms, each of which are embroiled in something a long time before you come on the scene, and the victor, of these wars will be the true ruler of this land—not the victor in the latest battle amongst the strongest houses. The worst legacy of the passing of power will be nothing short of chaos, as the old order collapses. Chaos is something that tends to bring out the primal cunning in many players, especially those who already have a love of straying from the beaten path. This is one of the reasons that already “dangerous” characters may often get used to having a wider domain; the area can be expanded to fit an individual character’s ideals.

The Second World War is not only about the major battles fought at sea and in the air above the continent of Europe. For most of the war, it was a war of navies as well as many smaller and a few larger naval battles are hidden just beneath the surface, often on the high seas, usually ships at anchor or at sea carrying troops and cargo. These battles are often the most decisive ones of the war, each side having a series of surprises to spring on the enemy and using their own advantages to gain an upper hand at the enemy’s expense.
The naval battles in Hearts of Iron IV, as in real life, are fought between the navies of the major powers, played using a wargame engine to simulate the actions of real warships. However, the game’s naval battles are slightly different than the real life battles.
For the most part, the naval battles in Hearts of Iron IV are based on the real life battles played out using rules set out in The International Code of Conduct for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea. The naval battles are divided into “day battles,” where ships either attack each other directly, or in a “convoy battle,” where the fleet carrying the attacking force is scattered and protected by formations of escorts. These formations only protect the escorts and not the attacking fleet, as in real life. Also, the number of ships in an engagement are not limited by the maximum number of escorts (as in real life), as in many naval wargames. This makes an engagement more realistic, as there is no realistic limit to how many ships can take part in a battle. Furthermore, the opposing fleet cannot assume they will only encounter their allies in a battle.
Even with the less realistic rules used in Hearts of Iron IV, the changes still prove to be a good thing. In many battles in the real world, several ships were lost to enemy contact, simply because the enemy attacked without knowing they were en-route.
In the game, however, the rules state that an enemy can only be in direct contact with a ship when there are no “uninvolved” ships between them, that is, a large formation of escorts. By restricting the “uninvolved” ships, the numerical odds between the two sides are skewed in the direction of the larger enemy force. This, in turn, means that the defender has less of a chance of losing the battle.
