* **Photomerge:** This tool allows you to create panoramas (a long image with multiple overlapping exposures) using a series of photos or other images that are captured using a camera on a tripod. You can choose the settings for the resulting image and combine multiple images together into a single image using this tool.
* **Photo overlay:** This tool allows you to combine multiple images together or overlay one image on top of another. You can also use different images as overlays and combine images, saving you the time of creating your own images.
* **Photo Merge:** The Photo Merge feature combines multiple photos together to create a panoramic image.
* **Spot Healing Brush:** This tool quickly removes blemishes from an image.
* **Vibrance, Saturation, and Lightness tools:** These tools determine the overall level of color saturation, white balance, and brightness. You can use these tools to adjust colors or even create new colors in a photo.
* **Adjustment Layers:** These provide different editing options for the image’s background.

Q:

In JavaScript, when do you use a constructor over an object?

I am teaching myself JS through the Complete JavaScript Course on lynda.com, and I am a bit confused as to when I should use a constructor for creating objects. Specifically, I am wondering if it is acceptable to create a function that accepts a couple of parameters as a constructor, or if I should only create a constructor using functions that accept 0 parameters. To my understanding, both methods are correct and will work, but I have been told by a friend that I should only use functions as constructors, as the technique will remove the ability to call the object at object.name() and will cause problems for other developers in the long-term. My first question is, should I use constructors other than the two methods he mentioned?
Secondly, if I do decide to use a constructor, what should the argument name be? Should it be this, or maybe self or _this? It seems like all the examples used self, and I can see why, but I also hear people saying to never use self.

A:

In JavaScript you call a constructor (function which usually take 0 parameters) when you want to create a new object. So generally a constructor is used to provide a default object initializer.

While it has not been demonstrated that the age of an insect is related to resistance to infection by *Plasmodium* spp., several authors have proposed that the age-related deterioration of the immune system is correlated with *Plasmodium* spp. infection \[[@CR28], [@CR29], [@CR32]\]. However, the literature lacks adequate data for an analysis of this correlation.

Conclusions {#Sec7}
===========

In this study, more than 50% of the wild *A. albopictus* was found to be resistant to at least one of the four strains of *P. vivax*, confirming previous findings. The same proportion of resistance to *P. falciparum* was also observed. Moreover, for some of the resistant *A. albopictus* specimens, the parasite was found to be spreading rapidly, with clinical manifestations. The effectiveness of this vector in the dissemination of the parasite depends on several factors, including the levels of inoculum and age of the insect. However, this study highlights the need for a multidisciplinary approach to find solutions to these problems.
