Create your OWN character

The game’s look-and-feel is based on fantasy but, to tell you the truth, it’s not as action-packed as RPGs usually are. Nevertheless, there’s a possibility to use 3D animation and to create your own characters, though it’s not a convenient way if you are new to this kind of game. The controls are pretty simple and the movements are also without mistakes, so it’s worth the investment. Basically, you’ll be controlling your character with the WASD keys. The action scenes and battles, for instance, are split into four different phases: Attack, Defense, Slash, and Run. You can also use special attacks during the action part; you can even make them multiple attacks. The controls can be locked during battle to improve movement, or, for example, when you are swinging your sword. There’s also a useful feature that allows you to strengthen an attack and to unlock different attack styles. You can also use items to increase your health and to increase your skills or to give your character a new skill. In short, the game is pretty much similar to Warriors and such games, though the combat doesn’t have any real depth. Additionally, there is something called the Ascension System that you’ll see on the video above. Once you reach the desired levels of power, you can ascend to a higher level, which means you will have access to more abilities and more skills. It’s like a more advanced version of the previously mentioned Ascension System.

A vast world full of surprises

The game is fun and it’s fairly enjoyable. The Lands Between are made of various places and you’ll find a variety of enemies. From nondescript town squares to mysterious mountains and huge castles. There are also many events happening in these areas and the player can influence them. Plus, the game has a fair amount of difficulty, so it’s easier to go online and get some experience by fighting stronger opponents.

Oktava Games, the team behind Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (NA and EU), released a trailer for their upcoming action role-playing game, Elden Ring (PC) this past weekend, to demonstrate the game’s epic story and battles for viewers at FFVFF 2012.

Elden Ring takes place in the Lands Between. Legend has it that the Elden Ring, a sacred artifact, once was buried in the ground, but a colossal conflict in the past caused it to be lost at sea. Only a few people in the world know about this fact.

The player controls an intrepid thief and protector of the ring named Tarnished. With his trusty sidekick, a marsh-dog named Molfren, as well as a familiar piece of equipment, the key, Tarnished must travel across the vast lands and go head to head with fearsome creatures and formidable bosses for the resumption of the sacred artifact.

Elden Ring will feature turn-based combat, alternate-punching systems, over 60 types of weapons, and up to four or more party members.

REVIEW: It’s Everything You Can’t Put Your Finger On

Tony Stewart’s new autobiography is on my nightstand right now. The picture of an expectant Stewart taped to the cover is by far the best image the book has to offer. He’s holding a black Sharpie, giving a thumbs-up, and a smile of satisfaction on his face.

As much as the timing of his two-year relationship with porn star Anna Silk made me uncomfortable, it did add a layer of interest to Stewart’s first book. I wanted to know more about this person who could interest anyone, let alone NASCAR’s most popular driver.

Stewart, with the help of ghostwriter Paul Tamayo, tells the story of a man who was born to be a star. I can’t stand to think about what that implies.

According to Tamayo, Stewart decided the book would cover his childhood up until his failed bid for the 2000 NASCAR Championship. He was offered the chance to write it himself, but ended up choosing to do it the traditional way, basing the majority of the story on the memories of his mother and his immediate family.

The cover was the easiest part of the process. Stewart was initially reluctant to allow it to be taped to a 1,000 page book.

“You think, why would I want to advertise it this way?” he said. “But then I had this little epiphany that said, ‘If it’s going to be a book, why not make the cover interesting?’ ”

Tamayo says the idea came about when Stewart saw a news story about the ability to tape pictures to your book. He had a copy of The Best of What’s New, a coffee table book that features photography of upcoming music releases in its pages. The idea was to use it as a template for the book.
