Turn your Web browser into a Public Kiosk
Simple Kiosk is a program that turns your browser into a “secure browser kiosk”. This means that only web sites you configure are loaded.
If the web site you want to load is not in the list of restricted sites (configured using the settings), a warning message will pop up. The program will create a new temporary browsing tab for this site and check if the site is in the blacklist of this kiosk. If the site is blacklisted, the browser will prompt you with a dialog. If you accept the change, the tab will be opened.
Simple Kiosk can run in two ways:
as a daemon, a service application, running in the background and waiting for commands
as an user application, a process running in the foreground waiting for input
This way, the kiosk and the browser are under the same user account. The daemon is started by the operating system and can be scheduled to start at any time from system boot, or with a countdown timer.
