Even though Vicky Donor is not an entertaining film, it is overall a very well-made film. Not many films can live up to Doctors First and Vicky Donor in terms of the movie making. As a protagonist, the man is unique. The comedy in the film is well-crafted and the character’s interactions with many characters add a very amusing kind of comedy to the film. The film is a strong effort by John Abraham’s debut directorial venture. The actor has convincingly portrayed a character that is not his usual kind. While the dialogue sometimes reminds us of the Dawson’s Creek series, the script is edited well in a way that has a lot of humour and a smart script. Moreover, many humor scenes in the film have loads of gags and the timing between scenes is well-timed too.

The actors in the film deliver excellent performances. John Abraham does a fine job and he looks like he has a very rich experience by his very natural screen presence and his dialogue delivery. Dr Ankur Pathak is good in his role and in the movie. In the film, the character is portrayed as a dork who is a rookie in the whole surgical domain. In a way, he is a modern-day jack-the-lad and he is very energetic in his funny interactions with Vicky and the other characters too. The characters that he interacts with are also good with their natural performance. Saibir Khanna is also very convincing in his role. In the film, he is a medical expert who is a young and passionate neurosurgeon. Avantika Mehta is also very convincing in her role. In the film, she does the heroines role well. Her interaction with John Abraham is also good and of course, they are perfect for each other. While John Abraham and Saibir Khanna are the major positive points in the film, the movie will work only with John Abraham and Avantika Mehta’s strong on-screen chemistry.

an unlikely love triangle ensues between vicky, dolly and sandhya. vicky falls for sandhya who reciprocates, but needs a very rich groom. dolly waits for her much older husband, vicky, to find someone he genuinely wants to marry. in the process, we see vicky trying to escape his rather unattractive circumstances by trying to change his luck. he moves to new delhi for an internship at the clinic.
dr. baldev (anu kapoor), a good-natured but disappointed and rather dated doctor, is hired by india’s prime minister to give india’s first dna test. while the population of india is one of the world’s fastest growing, childlessness is a real problem. baldev finds vicky arora (ayushmann khurrana) in the sperm bank, the only son to a poor but uneducated couple who desperately need his sperm to conceive a child.
vicky is low on funds but is attractive to local women. he strikes a deal with dolly that when she gives birth to their child she’ll pay off the debt. vicky and dolly’s child, a beautiful but docile girl, becomes a fascination for everyone except vicky, who longs for a face that can light up the dark corners of india.
dolly and vicky fall in love with each other which results in vicky falling in love with sandhya. sandhya, a 26-year-old vegetarian, has been looking for a good man with a good heart and a lot of money to pay for her expensive private school education. vicky enters the picture with the intention of making dolly pay for giving him away.
