It is the year 2386. The US has been in a long decline since the British Empire as the world’s largest political, military and cultural force, with most of the world preferring to trade and exchange with the Asian countries. With that comes the need for transport as the US continues to grow as an economic giant. The solution for the US government is to embark on a plan to build an orbital space station to house all the personnel and cargo from around the world, but that might just be too ambitious for the way things are going.

OK so I’m reading a lot of threads trying to figure this one out. I’ve tried Vexus, OpenTTD, and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Like with those, the scenery is so nice and perfectly accurate it’s amazing. I feel like all these games are missing a few key elements, and I want to know what they are.

Why does no game have a sandbox mode? I understand that you can alter many things, but can’t you change the size and shape of a planet, or at least create your own? Also the relationship between countries is very crucial, and I’m really interested in whether you can trade with countries outside of your borders. I don’t want to accidentally start a trade war by trading with a country that might be at war with someone I care about.

I’m sure other games have some of this stuff, but I find them boring because they’re all so close to real life. I want to do something different for a change, something that isn’t super realistic but also isn’t a souped-up version of something that already exists. This isn’t intended as a complete list but some of the things I’m hoping to have:

Stability: I want to be able to play the game easily for at least a few years. In other words, I don’t want the game to randomly crash a few months after I get it.

It’s your planet! You get to shape its landscape with your own imagination, with no “correct” way to do things.

You can go outside your own territory and trade with foreign countries.

Do you like having the freedom to pick and choose what kind of government your country has? Do you like being forced to follow a certain path of action?

The more you play the more you’ll figure out what governments, institutions and systems work best.

The more you play the more you’ll figure out what’s best for your own country.

Does free market capitalism work? Is a central system better? Should there be a UN or WFTDA or the EU?

    These kind of things

    WETDSA!!

I don’t want to sound like a Ron Paul fanboy, but a democratic government is really all I want.

    Intro to the game:

    Gameplay:
Shift Quantum is a video game developed by Free Design and published by the South Korean video game company Amanita Design, released in 2009 for PlayStation Portable and Xbox 360. The title is set in a world in which global warming and overpopulation have turned people into giant monsters who are destroying the world and humanity. Luckily, the good Dr. Nimpo saves the world once again, with the help of a young and well-endowed android girl named Hildegard.
    Game:
    General:
    Levels:
Shift Quantum is very well made. It’s not a new idea to have giant monsters from overpopulation, but Amanita Design put a lot of effort into it. As the game starts, everything is peaceful, with the exception of a small group of people living in a rural village. Not long after, some individuals arrive in this village as giants, and start destroying everything. Soon, there are no forests or animals anymore, just heaps of corpses and destruction. In this post-apocalyptic setting, a new hero, Hildegard, is created, and she just happens to be the new guardian of the village. When you start playing, Hildegard is a bit easy to control, but it’s easier than any other game in this genre, and that’s what we like in a puzzle game. You can’t die, and you don’t have to replay levels, either.
The controls are easy to use. The basic control system is the same as any other puzzle platformer: move with the left analog stick, jump with the right analog stick, jump once with the d-pad, and attack enemies with the L button. There are a lot of things you can do with the R2 button, and the A button to jump once, and the system is pretty intuitive.
    Levels:
The levels in Shift Quantum are divided into two categories: maze and warp. In the maze-levels, you just try to reach the exit of the level before time runs out. In the warp-levels, you fight enemies while trying to get to the core of the level to warp to another location. You can save your progress when the timer is off, but we would advise to keep on playing in the maze-levels until you complete the whole game.
    Maze-levels:
In the maze-levels, you are faced with the same enemy type with the same health. They
