Q: What if I am unable to pay my tax due in full?

A: Pay as much as you can and request an installment plan.

Q: For how many years I can file an amendment?

A: You can file amendment for previous three years and still be able to receive any refund if due. However, if you file an amendment for a year earlier than three years, you will not receive a refund due but will be liable for any tax due.

Q: What if I am unable to pay my New York Sate tax right now?

A: It is in your best interest to pay all tax bills in full immediately. By doing so, you will avoid accruing more penalties and interest and the start of civil enforcement action. If you cannot pay your bill immediately, you can request an installment payment agreement (IPA) by calling at 518-457-5434 or online.

Q: What if I am unable to pay IRS my Federal tax right now?

A: It is in your best interest to pay all tax bills in full immediately. By doing so, you will avoid accruing more penalties and interest and installment agreement set up fees. If you cannot pay your bill immediately, you can make monthly payments through an installment agreement by completing and mailing Form 9465 or by applying online or by calling the phone number on your bill or notice.
