Classic Card Game Spades is just like playing regular cards, but it’s much faster. It’s classic, free fun!

A: An outstanding event. This is likely to be one of the most attractive tournaments around in Australia for some time to come. Having said that, the medal table feature on the back of a carton of milk will not attract many participants. For those who want an enjoyable contest, this is one of the best ones to be had. Add that to the box of stolen chocolates, bowls of beatiful fresh cookies, stacks of fruit cake and local welcome, and you’ll have a great time for sure.

A: First, my congratulations to Rohan and Sam for getting under-par 77 for four-and-a-half hours, and that’s something I don’t think I’ve ever seen or done. A great team effort, and still some way to go. Mark Davis and Gary Wayding took out the Canadian Open I missed last year; there’s always a couple of good players flying under the radar. The event was held on a course with huge undulations. Inconsistently fringed fairways at times, and then tight, prickly, stony, hardwire rough in the middle of the fairway at others. There was often a lull of about two hours in play, and people were wandering off to take an extended nap or drive to the pub. After the final round, the players stood in awed silence as the Australia Open trophy was revealed; it’s a deep commitment to your sport to do that.
It was a four-round singles event with a $150,000 prize pool. It’s fair to say a lot of the players would have picked up the scorecards of some of these as-events last season rather than commit to four rounds.
AT ONE REPUBLIC BLUES
Jack deservedly collected the Augusta (Tennessee) Open title on the weekend after a massive win at the CJGA Invitational a fortnight prior. It still a little tight this time of year, so it was nice to see him taking it. He hasn’t held it since 2009 before that. He has been knocking at the door of the top 10 in recent years, and it looks like he’ll get a crack at one in 2017.

The proposal could be put to councillors next week.
Councillors are considering a proposal that would place private psychoanalytic practices in the city under restrictions.
A motion submitted by Alderman Kaye Pierre-Kayes calls for legislative proposals to deal with private psychoanalytic practices that offer services without professional designation.
The motion recommends that the Superior Court Affairs Commission be formally asked to develop a process to regulate and license private psychoanalytic practices based on criteria similar to those for occupational psychologists, marriage and family therapists, and social workers.

The motion also suggests that licensing for the practice of medicine may be appropriate and that a motion to that effect could be put to council next week.
“The motion calls for a ‘living’ regulation that modernized and updated its regulatory scheme,” Mr. Pierre-Kayes said.
However, he acknowledged the motion does not set out the details of any proposed law and that no regulatory scheme has ever been developed specifically for psychoanalytic practice in Montreal.
