Photoshop CS started out as a planned update to Photoshop 7. It was called Photoshop 7.0 for some reason, and was set to be released in April 2001. The initial release included what is now known as Photoshop CS, Photoshop Elements, and Photoshop 7.1 (which has since been removed from the software due to conflicts with Photoshop 7.1 Service Pack 2).

The biggest addition was that the initial release no longer required a $1,995 upgrade fee (although the upgrade cost was not lowered). The initial release included an entirely new Interface Designer feature (called HDRInfo) for better LUT support.

In 2004, Photoshop 7.1 was the major upgrade of the previous version, and added native plug-ins such as Fireworks.

Adobe offered only free upgrades after 2005 for Photoshop 7.1 or earlier versions.

In 2007 Adobe Photoshop CS5, Version 8.0 was released. This version offered the new features of Smart Objects (which can, for example, allow you to reshape an object), Content-Aware Fill (which allows you to fix uneven lighting in photos), and bitmap printing.

In 2008 Adobe Photoshop CS6, Version 10.0 was released. This version’s major update was the addition of the Content-Aware Move tool, along with fixes for bugs in earlier releases.

In 2009, Adobe Photoshop CS7, Version 11.0 was released. This version added a new Dynamic Link Interface (DLI), which is compatible with Flash.

While the major reason for releasing CS6 was the addition of the Content-Aware Move tool, new features were added with every release. So that is what I am going to cover in this tutorial.

All the programs have been tested using Windows XP Home and Professional and Windows 7 Home Premium and Professional and Windows 8 Pro and Professional.

Note: All the downloads linked in this tutorial were tested using Adobe Photoshop CS6, Version 12.0, which was released on Sept. 5, 2013.

The downloaded file should be saved on your desktop and a shortcut should be created on your Desktop, C drive and any other location of your choice.

Note: If you have a 64-bit computer, you must download and install 64-bit Photoshop.

What is Photoshop Elements?

But you can’t bring elements you edited with the Elements toolbox into Photoshop, nor can you import elements created in Photoshop into Photoshop Elements.

You can create new layers, vectors, brushes, patterns, effects, and masks in Photoshop Elements. You can use adjustment layers and effects to change the hue, saturation, and brightness of parts of an image. You can also edit the colors in different parts of an image or mask with the eyedropper tool, and you can draw new shapes and paths in the shape tools. You can also use layers in Photoshop Elements to make them part of a project.

With Elements, you have a single window to view all the elements in an image. In Photoshop, you can open multiple windows and layer separate windows on top of each other. You can also share Photoshop Elements projects with other people.

When the federal government releases the rates of consumers in the 36 states that are offering ObamaCare through their state exchanges, the reaction will be almost uniform: surprise, outrage and confusion.

“I think that people are gonna be shocked,” said Ron Pollack, the executive director of Families USA, a liberal health-care group. “The reason is, in the federal exchanges, you don’t see the full impact of this. ObamaCare is going to take place in the states. This is the first time many people are going to see what this will mean for them.”

The next states to reveal their rates and provisions will be California and New Jersey. Pollack said many of the calculations and rates the state exchanges will present will not be made public.

“My understanding is that the state departments of insurance are holding back data because there are just too many variables,” he said. “That could change on a daily basis.”

Some information — most notably the subsidies that an individual will get to lower his or her premiums — will probably be made public, but he said the largest unknowns are the types of insurance coverage to be offered and the premium amounts.

Flashback Weekend ft. Josh Groban and John Mayer

So I’m really starting to dig Josh Groban. He’s a solid singer and it’s easy to understand why his music is so close to people. His voice is pure and deep and even though he’s not the most exciting to listen to, he’s so damn good. I think that his songwriting is especially endearing, and he’s slowly but surely become one of my favorites. Last year I saw him on an awesomely good live album (Live In Iowa 2008) so I jumped to his newest album – Awake. It’s completely chill and pretty on the whole. One of the best songs on the album is One Day At A Time, and I’ve never seen it performed in a live setting. Groban was kinda known for avoiding live performances, but he finally went out there. The song was sooo good live, and I was super pumped for it.

So I was out in California and I was in a hotel room when I saw Josh’s name pop up on Twitter. I logged on right away and watched a video of him performing The Story of My Life. It was intense. The performance was basically a retelling of his life, and it was intense. I’ve listened to his songs and I have a good feeling about him, but this live performance just really made me a fan. I wasn’t sure I’d be a fan of his music, but now I’m head over heels. There’s not a bad song on the album, and you can’t help but feel happy and emotionally connected to him as you listen.

So my friends and I decided to do a Flashback Weekend. Each of us chose a song we liked from a different album – John Mayer, Kid Cudi, Me and My Uncle, and finally Josh. So for the second entry of the weekend, I chose One Day At A Time.

The soundtrack is a perfect example of beautiful solo piano played from deep inside Josh Groban’s soul. It’s so lush and quiet, and as a fan of the music I listen to, it’s the type of music that has me sitting back in my seat and letting the smooth jazz flow through me.
