Adobe Photoshop is an image editing program that enables the creation of raster images using overlays and masks.
What Can Photoshop Do?
There are two basic types of imaging in Photoshop, or at least there used to be two basic types. One is the image type, and the other is the document type. They are really two different objects, but there was a time when they were the same object.
Image Type
In Photoshop, the image type is just that: a static photo that can be manipulated. A raster image is one that has pixels. Text, lines, and shapes, however, cannot become pixels, and their shape is manipulated with layers and masks.
An image has only one layer.
Image manipulation typically changes the focus or exposure of the image, so that the subject of interest is more visible or the background is less so.
Exposure and focus can be altered in the Photoshop image editor.
Image editing and such things as cropping and resizing will also change the overall structure of the image.
Image layers are stacked on top of each other, allowing for editing of the individual layer content. When an image is opened in Photoshop, it is one layer, even though in reality it may consist of a multitude of individual layers or combinations of layers.
Document Type
In Photoshop, the document type is a form that contains the information about the image. For instance, a photo of a wedding provides the information about the type, the date, the photographer, who paid for it, what camera was used, etc. A document type is also more than the pixels on the original photo because it is the composite of all the document’s elements.
In Photoshop the image is one layer, the video is one layer, the text is one layer, etc.
Because Photoshop provides all the appropriate layers that make up the document type, the user does not have to separate layers to manipulate the image.
There is a close relationship between layers and Photoshop’s document type. In Photoshop, an image is one layer, and then all the layers are stacked on top of one another, resulting in one document.
Photoshop often has two labels: image and document. This distinction is sometimes fuzzy. For example, the image tab sometimes describes the layers as either image or document, while the layer style tab describes the layers as image or mask.

The biggest advantage of Photoshop Elements is its speed. Although it’s slower than Adobe Photoshop, you can open, edit, and save more images than you could with PS.
The downside to Photoshop Elements is that it doesn’t have the level of precision and control that you get with Adobe Photoshop, and also a lot of features aren’t available.

Photoshop Elements has a very fast performance, so it’s far faster than Photoshop. It’s one of the most featured and productive image editing programs.
Because it has only the most basic features, you won’t get the same level of control as a professional editor.
You can edit up to 16 million colors from your images. It’s much simpler and less feature-rich.
Even though it has fewer features than Photoshop, it has the same controls and tools you need to do basic image editing.
Creating templates, content management systems, and other functions is much easier with Elements.
You can edit 300+ layers in a single image and easily merge them into one image.
Elements is a fast, easy to use program for image editing. The difference between Elements and Photoshop is that Photoshop has more features that you have the need to do basic image editing.
Adobe Photoshop Elements is a great free alternative to Photoshop. With a fast performance and limited number of features, you can easily use this program to edit your images.
Some of the pros and cons are applicable to many Photoshop alternatives.

When I have a mutable image and I modify it, for example modify the tint color, the color never changes, and if I access the image again, I get an exception saying:

This example highlights the fact that the spin-phonon coupling could become strong for typical values of the phonon frequency found in semiconductors, and even though this is a rather small value of the electron-phonon coupling, it would represent a strong coupling compared to typical spin-phonon coupling strengths observed in the literature.
