Creating vector images with Adobe Illustrator

Vector images, also called bitmap images, use mathematical formulas (in the form of points, curves, and lines) to display graphics, rather than dots that create a raster image. Vector images are suitable for print, but they have some limitations for web use.

Illustrator is a vector-image drawing and editing program. In addition to tools that enable you to create, edit, print, and export graphics, the program has a web-publishing toolset for creating and publishing documents to the Web.

## Creating a Vector Photo

To start, create a new document in Illustrator and create a basic shape in the canvas.

Here, I create a very basic shape to illustrate how vectors can create an image with just a few basic design elements.

In this illustration, the basic design includes two shapes: a rectangle and a circle.

You can add more details in the shapes, such as highlights and shadows, but the basics are what you’re after.

To create a basic image, use one of the following techniques:

* **Draw a basic shape.** To create a vector image from a basic shape, create the basic shape and then use the Pathfinder panel to use the vector-shape to create the entire image.
* **Use the Rectangle tool and drag to create a shape.** The Rectangle tool is one of the drawing tools in Illustrator. To create a new shape, click the tool and then click and drag to create the shape. You can change the size of the rectangle you create in two ways:

Pixlr

The one and only free online image editor, with a very easy to use interface and a very helpful tutorial section. It works on a lot of different web browsers, including mobile ones. In addition, Pixlr is available in many countries, with a Portuguese language version coming soon.

Pixlr is on the free side of the price spectrum but the quality of the images produced can match Photoshop in a lot of ways. Many people love the simplicity and ease of use.

Pixlr can be used for editing photos and it is easy to make changes, like a copy, paste or rotate the selected object. The image editor has no tools specifically designed for Photoshop but if you need Photoshop like features, you can download it for a small fee, or get the trial version for free.

Google’s DPP

You might ask: “Why not use the same software that Google uses?”

The answer to that is: Macros.

Google’s DPP is an online image editor with a spreadsheet type interface and a trial. The editor isn’t necessarily as feature rich as the app called Google’s own DPP, but with a fairly easy to use interface and an unlimited trial version you can try it out.

The interface is clean, a pleasure to use and provides a lot of useful options. You can easily resize the picture, make changes to the curves, add effects, edit and sharpen your images, save or send the picture to Twitter or Facebook, and so much more.

I have to tell you I have an obsession with flowers. Oh yes, I’m not the only one. There are plenty of people who have quite an interest in the subject. The only difference is that I haven’t the slightest idea how to create such wonderful sculptures. I’ll leave you with a bit of my pictures. So, let’s see what we have to offer…

This one is soooo pretty. Its a chilipig. It has very long arms and legs and I love how the little head peeps out.

Here is a picture of me holding a chilipig. This one is also really cute.

These are also called dragonlilies and the centers of these flowers are usually pink.

I love this one and I don’t know if its because I’ve just returned from my trip to the UK or because I have so many business trip lined up that I almost got stuck in traffic while taking this picture. But here we have some very cute owls.

This one is one of the things that first got me into crafting and all the other crafts. The creator of this picture use to say that she took the picture with the last remaining bullet she had in the magazine.

I’ve been planning to do some things for a while and finally I did one last week. In my previous post I asked what I wanted to do for Valentine’s day. The answer was: flowers. I thought this little guy would be the perfect Valentine’s present. Now its ready for me to give it to my girl. I hope it will be a memorable one and I’m excited to see how she likes it. Until then, enjoy the pictures.

This is the back view of this little guy.

It would have to be a cheesy-kissy-kissy poo because it is meant to fall on a girl’s head.

This is how it looks on its side. It will be attached to a plastic stick with strong glue.

Here is the man himself. He was so delicate to make, but he is a really strong guy as you will see in the next picture.

To construct the COX-2-specific siRNA vector and analyze its effectiveness in siRNA interference. The designed COX-2-specific siRNA (5′-CCGGCTATGCTGCTCAAGGGCGG-3′) and scrambled siRNA (5′-CCGAGCCTTATCCACGCTATCG-3′) were cloned into the pcDNA3.1 (+) plasmid and the expression plasmid was established by transfection. The interference efficiency of the expression plasmid was analyzed in vivo by transfecting the expression plasmid into human gastric cancer cell line HGC-27. Both COX-2-specific siRNA and scrambled siRNA suppressed the expressions of COX-2 mRNA and protein in HGC-27 cells, and the COX-2-specific siRNA showed the strongest interference efficiency. The human COX-2-specific siRNA vector was successfully constructed. This study lays the foundation for further exploration of the application of COX-2-specific siRNA in tumor treatment.

Appellant, Donald L. Martin, sued appellee, Tom Green, to recover the amount due him for goods sold and delivered and for work done pursuant to an oral contract. Green denied the existence of any contract, and alleged that it was void, in that he was employed under a written contract, and had been discharged therefrom before the alleged contract was entered into. He sought recovery of the $1,333.33, with a reasonable attorney’s fee, for damages suffered by reason of the alleged contract, and because it was rendered void.
The jury found the issues for the appellant, and the trial court entered judgment on the verdict against Green. Green has not appealed. Appellant, Donald L. Martin, has appealed from the judgment as to Green.
