Akiba Rubinstein Razuvaev Pdf 11

i’ve been meaning to read this book for years now and i finally got around to it. it’s really interesting. i’d rate it a 5 out of 5. it’s not about tactics, which is what i’d hoped, but instead it’s about how he played from opening to endgame. in general i liked it. obviously one of the things i like about chess is the ending, and this book is devoted to akiba’s endings. i like that. it’s a fun read, and it’s written very well. if you like reading books about chess, you might like this.

this book is about akiba’s endgame technique. it’s a collection of his games from the 1950s. this is an interesting book. it’s dense. i liked the material. there are lots of examples. i’d rate it a 3 out of 5. the book was also really dense and difficult to read. i could see why the author decided to put all the games in one book.

i’d rate this book a 4.5 out of 5. this book’s main focus is on akiba’s endgame technique. it’s a collection of his games from the 1950s. i’d definitely recommend this book to people who know a lot about chess and want to get to know the endgame better.

i have the razuvaev’s book about akiba. i have never met akiba, but i remember having heard about him when i was a child. in particular, i remember the games of tiviakov and i wrote about this in this article:

who can say..
but i do not know if it is the rubinstein chess academy or the book written by chess.
there are some other issues with the razuvaev book, besides the articles i mentioned, some of them as ” there is no criticism ” etc. but are all of them worth noting?
the first is the low level of the articles, or the lack of them, even though the book is a chronological history of the russian chess school, while razuvaev makes no mention of the players, perhaps because he is a great chess historian ( may be not ), but the book is not a history, it is a history of rubinstein’s work : the two volumes of rubinstein’s course and the four volumes ( two volumes in english ) of the razuvaev’s book are not equal.
the second is the second game in the razuvaev’s book. it is a game of rubinstein from 1935, and the evidence is that razuvaev had studied a good deal of rubinstein’s chess, and he does not do any theoretical analysis, and the game is described simply as: ” the game rubinstein – grischuk “, as if it was a reference to the history of the game.
however the game had been analyzed thoroughly by other commentators ( in russian and english ), even if in the beginning they gave the correct analysis but after a few years of analysis they began to be too much ” rubinstein ” to grischuk ( as if rubinstein’s name is a given and it could not have been anyone else ). so it is a bit strange to see that razuvaev did not give any analysis, but just ” the game rubinstein – grischuk “.
the third is that the book is not really a work of history, but rather a work that tries to be a compendium of the russian school of chess, trying to create a myth for its own glory. for example, there is no mention of the fact that the rubinstein and blatnick played a match in 1930 against akiba rubinstein ( in english, rubinstein lost ), no mention that kasparov was the rubinstein’s opponent in the match in 1978 ( in english, rubinstein drew ), and so on. there are many other things that seem to me odd.
the fourth is that there are some inaccuracies. for example, the first game rubinstein had published in 1938, the one he won against max euwe, is described as being the only game he had won with black in a gm tournament, as if it was something extraordinary. and i think that the rubinstein of razuvaev is not a true rubinstein.

according to the publisher’s description, rubinstein “was a brilliant chess player who won the ussr championship in 1955, 1958, 1959, 1960, and 1962. he also won the u.s. open in 1962, the french championship in 1964, and the ussr championship in 1965. he was world junior champion in 1958. he was world champion from 1962 to 1964, and again from 1967 to 1975. he was champion of the soviet union from 1970 to 1975. he was a consultant for chess-playing computers in the 1970s. in addition to being considered one of the world’s top chess players, rubinstein was also considered an important chess theoretician. he was editor of chess magazine in the 1960s and 1970s. he founded the world chess school and has mentored many well-known chess players, among them v. bologan, d. krivine, and i. sokolov.”
the book “the main principles of chess” (schachprinzipien) is considered the main reference book on chess at the time it was written (1965-68). it is filled with invaluable wisdom and excellent advice. rubinstein died at the age of 84 in a nursing home in his hometown of saint petersburg, russia.
i have the razuvaev book and the mines book and one book by kmoch, but i don’t have the one by donaldson, so i couldn’t comment on whether it is good or not. but there is nothing comparable to it. my own personal favorite books on rubinstein are donaldson’s “rubinstein’s chess, the art of strategy”, his “understanding chess” (which i don’t think is actually the best title of the book, but better than the second book on rubinstein) and a book by reingold on the rubinstein system (about the system, not the games), but i am not sure if there is a book like this for razuvaev, which would be a must have.
