File Encoding

AutoCAD 2016 for Windows and AutoCAD LT 2016 have version number 18820. The last release was AutoCAD 2017, version number 30.
AutoCAD 2018 for Windows and AutoCAD LT 2018 have version number 19020. The last release was AutoCAD 2019, version number 160.

AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT 2013 and later will refuse to open files with versions lower than 2013. AutoCAD 2010 and earlier will refuse to open files with versions lower than 2007.

C – char array copying causes null termination

I have two functions that perform very similar functions. The only difference is that one of them copies a character array to a dynamic array while the other simply reads it from a static array into a character pointer.
For the first one, it gives a segmentation fault. The second one seems to work just fine.
