History

Autodesk AutoCAD: the Early Years, 1982-1987

When AutoCAD was introduced in December 1982, it was designed specifically for desktop use by corporate architects and engineers. Using the newly released Apple II platform, AutoCAD was designed to work on a shared platform with other Autodesk products such as the AutoCAD 100 series drawing software package. During the 1980s, Autodesk released a number of versions of AutoCAD to the public, in addition to the computer-based drafting software.

The first public version was AutoCAD 80. To produce the new version, Autodesk worked with 3D Studio Incorporated (3DSI), an Apple development studio formed in 1977 that helped develop AutoCAD. It consisted of a group of engineers at Autodesk with experience in the drafting industry who created a new application, the version 80.

The 1980s saw AutoCAD grow in popularity as the graphics standards for microcomputers improved and computer power increased. By the time AutoCAD version 100 was released in April 1987, a new look and feel had been adopted, along with a new user interface and workflow.

I’m trying to build a batch script that will execute the following commands as part of a post-build step:

I’m currently doing this as follows:
