AutoCAD is the industry standard for designing software and solutions for the computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) field. AutoCAD is used for work on projects ranging from industrial and automotive to engineering and architectural design, and is also used in architecture, civil engineering, construction, and structural engineering. AutoCAD is used by a variety of industries, including in architecture, construction, construction management, electrical, industrial, automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, plumbing, and plumbing design.
The AutoCAD user can draw technical drawings and create plans and sections. For example, the AutoCAD user can design a computer screen and use those designs to create a web page. What is AutoCAD?
The use of computers in the design process of architectural, engineering, and construction fields is called computer-aided design. The Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software package has evolved to be a standard method of designing computer-generated images in the construction, building, and engineering industries.
The initial concept of CAD software was developed at the University of Cambridge in the 1960s, and was first released in the early 1970s. CAD software’s purpose is to allow users to easily design and draw models, or create the images or drawings, of an object. By using CAD, the design and drafting tasks are done faster and with greater accuracy than traditional methods.
With CAD software, the user creates a 3D model of the object using a computer. The 3D model is composed of a number of sections, lines, points, and surfaces. The 3D model is then translated into a 2D drawing, which can be printed or viewed on a screen. In the 1970s, the computer was not fast enough to create or render the 3D model, and many manual drafting tasks were necessary. As computers became more powerful, the amount of time necessary for drafting tasks dropped significantly.

The RADLINESTYLE property determines the fill type in the Block Palettes, Text Blocks and Heading Blocks. If RADLINESTYLE = 0, then a solid fill is used. If RADLINESTYLE = 1, then a dashed fill is used. RADLINESTYLE can be any of the following values:
0 (Solid)
1 (Dashed)
2 (Dotted)
The FILTCOLOR property determines the color of the fill. The following color schemes are supported:
To find the name of a color, enter its index number and press ENTER.
Basic Properties, such as text styles, fonts, and colors, are not stored in the drawing. Such properties must be created and saved as part of the drawing’s data. The RADIUS property determines the radius of the border of the object. RADIUS can be a fraction or an absolute distance (mm). A value of 0 indicates no border (i.e. a polygonal, or vector, shape). A value of 1 indicates that the object has a border. RADIUS can be any of the following values:
0 (No border)
1 (Border)
The SMALLMEMBER property determines if the specified element is displayed only in the status bar. To display or hide a specific element, including multiple members, use the commands and associated VBA macro scripts.
The STARTFRAME property determines the first frame of the drawing. You can use the command for this.
The TRACKFRAME property determines the last frame of the drawing. You can use the command for this.
To read the objects, you must use the commands described in the various pages. The page ” Commands” provides the most general information about the commands available in AutoCAD.
Conversion Between Units
A drawing may contain text and other objects with the following units of measure:
In AutoCAD, when you create a new drawing, all the objects are scaled by default to the default base unit of measure. The base unit of measure may be the point, the millimeter, the linear foot, the inch, or the metric foot. Use the following procedure to specify a custom base unit of measure.
