A conversion of unit of measure is usually not required when you are drafting or editing drawing files.

The typical electrostatic actuation systems in MEMS systems rely on electrostatic forces. Among these systems, electrostatic comb drive systems are one of the most popular systems for large-scale manufacturing. The key issue in these comb drive systems is to design a multi-bit-addressable micro electromechanical positioning system with high positioning resolution and a low power consumption. The addressing resolution depends on the number of the electrodes and the electrostatic force-resistance force ratio. In this proposal, we introduce a novel approach for a 1-bit-addressable comb drive system to improve the actuation resolution, which is composed of two comb drive units. This novel approach will be first validated by theoretical analysis. It will then be further validated by practical experiments and compared with the conventional 1-bit-addressable comb drive system. The 1-bit-addressable comb drive system would significantly reduce the power consumption and the fabrication cost.
