The name AutoCAD Serial Key is derived from “Auto CADDY” (automated CADdery), a term used by early engineers in the semiconductor industry to describe an integrated circuit for automated semiconductor device manufacturing. History
AutoCAD was originally called Multicad (multisheet CAD). It was first released in the early 1980s as a pair of programs for DOS (Multicad/Multiline was the DOS version, and Multiplan was the Apple Mac version).
With AutoCAD as the name, the company quickly attracted customers from the financial and architectural industries. The name was changed to AutoDesk in 1989. The company’s $200,000 profits in 1990 were the first for a CAD company that year. Over 30,000 copies of AutoDesk were sold in 1991.
When Autodesk bought Alias|Wavefront in 1992, AutoDesk was renamed Autodesk. AutoDesk grew from $8 million in revenues in 1993 to $79 million in 2000.
On 17 November 2011, Autodesk Inc. introduced AutoCAD 2012, the successor to AutoCAD LT. In addition to a new user interface, the new version was also multi-platform, offering a common look and feel on both the Windows and Mac OS X platforms.
Starting with version 2010 Release 16 of AutoCAD, Autodesk moved to a quarterly release cycle for its products, which is concurrent with its quarterly earnings results.
On 18 June 2017, Autodesk announced Autodesk Graphisoft, a division that merges the company’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) and visualization software, Graphisoft.
Products
AutoCAD is a complex application in which many specialized components are combined to create a specific model of architecture. AutoCAD tools include CAD, content management, parametric modeling, drawing, technical and presentation features, application development, image processing and web publishing.
