AutoCAD is a three-dimensional drafting and design tool for creating 2D and 3D drawings and models, including architectural drawings, shop drawings, and mechanical and electrical drawings. AutoCAD can be used for designing a variety of items including buildings, bridges, walls, pipes, turbines, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment, vehicles, railways, and ships. It is used extensively for model-making and can create meshes, meshes for interior surfaces, and 2D and 3D meshes. AutoCAD is used in industry and government for design of the products listed above.

AutoCAD performs a wide variety of tasks and the total number of drawings and models that can be created using AutoCAD is almost unlimited. Users are able to produce drawings from scratch to configure the most detailed details of the drawings and models.

AutoCAD has become the standard software tool for many applications, including CAD, drafting, and design. If you have ever used AutoCAD or CAD software, you probably have run into the AutoCAD command named “Update Model”. AutoCAD uses this command to update the latest version of the data in the current model without closing it.
