Trying to use RDD api for data mining

I need to use RDD API for some data mining algorithm. When I used RDD API for data mining it give me exception as ‘Only Spark with DataFrames API is supported’. I am using java 1.8. If I use RDD API for a dataframe, it works. Could anyone please help me on this.

Spark can be used to create RDDs, and for those you can use Java API. However, Spark doesn’t provide SparkSQL, so if you need full SQL functionality you have to go with DataFrames.
