There have been a lot of questions regarding the Magic Lantern firmware on the new MyCanon XA10. I’ve been waiting until I could give an official answer but better late than never. If you didn’t know already, MyCanon has released a firmware v2.00 for the XA10.

The firmware should be available here from MyCanon for download. One thing that’s interesting to note is that the firmware is supposed to be available for download right now. Since the firmware was released on Saturday, not many people had a chance to install it. A look at the ML download page shows that it is almost unavailable (look at the number of downloads).
This firmware doesn’t contain any features and was only meant to fix some video issues and a few other things. It will require a restart of your camera after applying it.
A lot of people are asking if this firmware has any known bugs. According to the video by David Jardin, there are a few things that need to be fixed. I won’t go into detail about them but I’m pretty sure people will have a good idea of what to look for. If you’re a ML user, you’ll find the firmware rather simple.
