Why does my Rx.Observable not always complete, while I expect that it should always complete?

Here is my source code. I just write this as an example. In fact, when creating a promise from the Observable, this situation always occurs, and I need to manually call.complete() on the promise.
var myObservable = Rx.Observable.create((observer) => {
setTimeout(() => {
console.log(“create”);
observer.onNext(“hello, world”);
observer.onCompleted();
}, 2000);
});

var myPromise = myObservable.toPromise().then(() => {
console.log(“promise”);
});

myPromise.complete(“ext”);

Why does this occur? As I understand from the API, the Observable should always complete.

A:

To ensure completion, you need to call complete() on the subscription. To ensure completeness, you also need to use interval() rather than timeout.
You could invert the creation of the observable so that it runs the complete callback on the subscription:
var myObservable = Rx.Observable
.interval(2000)
.map(() => “hello, world”)
