I found this program long time ago, but never used it in the past. Now I did, and I can say it’s a nice tool for batch renaming. It has a nice interface, it’s easy to use. It also has the capability of saving configurations (like you don’t want the filename to be changed or your extension should be changed) and what’s even better than that is that it previews the file name to let you know if the file name will be changed or not.
It also worked well in Windows XP and Windows 7, even though in Windows 7 I had to enter the filename into the program several times just to get the program to recognize that it was being run in Windows 7.
The only problem I found is that it can be a bit sluggish sometimes, but after all, it’s a free program.

I believe this free tool is reliable for a little bit of the basic renaming task. I did find several issues that made me wonder if this application is more for heavy users or not. Unfortunately, the interface for setting up the rules and previewing the results were not very user friendly. It is very difficult to set up even two types of rules for file and folder renaming, both are usually done on the same tab and for that reason you have to close the program first to open another one. I had to close the program completely and then open it again to use two rules at the same time. It would be better to have a popup window with the set up rules. The preview window also was not intuitive and had to use two steps to select the file after it was renamed. On the other hand, I could figure out how to display multiple file names on the same window so that I could process a single folder. The only negative thing for me was that the program did not work on the Windows 7.

Like any other renaming software, I first had to figure out how to set it up for a few more things. The first thing was to change the case of the file and rename it on the fly. Since I was renaming many files at the same time, I only wanted to change the case on the
