my xr5, 2.8 petrol, with w-styling arrived at my dealer with a new battery, but it still didnt work. tried for a month, no joy. looked at the ignition wiring and found a problem, the wire to the slave cylinder was also damaged and the handbrake was not working. in the meantime the battery was about to fail. i called toyota and they sent a very new battery and the handbrake was fixed. so then the dealer fixed the other problem (the ignition wiring).

the dealer was great, he gave me a brand new battery and the handbrake was fixed, but even after a month the new maps didn’t show up. i called toyota and they sent me a new software. i took it back to the dealer, he reset the ecu but still didn’t work. he then told me that i have to reset the ecu again. i told him that it didn’t work in the past and i know it’s a waste of money, but he insisted that i have to reset it again. it’s clear that toyota has no idea how to solve this problem. they must have a new engineer. it’s their problem now.

tried it, and then the radio died a death. was told that was because the 12v fuse was blown. after several months now, the satnav no longer works. i called toyota, and they said they would send me new software. i took the old software to a repairer, they reset the ecu and it now works, but the satnav no longer works.

i had the same problem. got the same satnav and was told it would be fixed by the dealer (even after i explained it was a known issue and the dealer had a new model in stock). well after a month, still no fix, so phoned toyota who sent me new software. i took it to the dealer and they reset the ecu and it worked (satnav functioned).

i am a newbie to the world of vehicle electronics and ecus. i have a 2006 toyota verso with a tns510 navigation system. i had to upgrade the firmware and only took about 30 seconds to download the updated version and now i cannot connect to the internet, as the navigation system is not connected to the internet. does anyone know how i can do this?
i have a question regarding my car it was stopped for more than 6 weeks the battery had discharge and because of that my tns510 navigation system had stopped working and it is show a massage in the screen which is saying ( call the dealer ) so my question here is there any way to reset the tns510 navigation system

so that is why its so expensive to update the toyota sat nav that comes as standard with all toyota inbuilt models, i have always updated my toyota sat nav, because i dont want to go to a garage, change the sat nav out and then get no where.
if you want to change your toyota sat nav from the toyota factory version, youll need to call toyota and have them send you a new version, then youll need to call the uksatnav company and have them setup the unit for you, that costs money, then youll need to phone toyota and have them put the updates on your unit, that cost money, and then youll need to tell your toyota dealer to do the service, that costs money.
