The HLA-A10 locus was associated with granulomatous colitis (P = 0.01). This association was confirmed when the level of significance was set at P = 0.05 (Pc = 0.06) after the correction for multiple comparisons by the Bonferroni method. Segregation analysis indicated the A10 allele was in strong linkage disequilibrium (LD) with DRB1*0201 (Pc = 0.03). The DQB1 gene in the HLA-B27 haplotype is a significant susceptibility factor for the development of granulomatous colitis.
