Flash
Flash is a video and animation program that can be used to create graphics and animations that are played on a web browser. With Flash, you can create animations for the Web as well as for Internet kiosks, which you can then view in any web browser without having to download the graphics separately.

New in Photoshop Elements 2018:
Prismarine
It was added in Photoshop Elements 2018. It is a mode for simple images, black and white pictures or black and white photos. It is the same as the one available in Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system.
Once you open it, the interface will be similar to the one you are probably familiar with:
Browsing through the toolbox:
The image will take the same size as the one you selected. However, it will be imported without any border, and if you are saving the file to your hard drive, it will have the same resolution as the original image.
When you’re done editing, you can export the image with the feature you prefer, like JPG, PNG or TIFF files.

Radial Blur
It was added in Photoshop Elements 2018. It is a simple but effective way to increase the style of a photo.
The process is very simple:
Select the image that you want to edit using the Magic Wand tool.
Click the Blur tab.
In the Radial Blur field, type the amount of Blur you want.
The field will be filled with the distance that the Blur will take.
Press OK.
The original image will be blurred.
After your editing, go to File > Save or press Ctrl+S to export the final file to your hard drive.

Lens Correction
It was added in Photoshop Elements 2018. It is to make your images look more professional.
This filter is similar to the Lens Correction feature in the professional version of Photoshop. However, it will make simple adjustments, like a minor adjustment of the focal point or some blurring of the image.
To open it, go to File > Adjust > Lens Correction.
The first step is where you will make the most adjustments. Depending on the settings you made, you may have to click on the image preview to see what the final result will look like.
Adjust the focal point using the slider.
Click on the arrow buttons on the bottom to adjust the size of the lens correction.
The result depends on the settings you have chosen.

Are there any good online courses available? I’ve heard of Lynda, ouya and Technori, but I’m not sure. Are there any others?

I’d highly recommend checking out the Khan Academy. It’s a good general introduction to Computer Science and many of their courses are free.

Some universities offer free online courses, others are pay per course. Best case scenario, it’s free. Most are pay per course. To get the best bang for your buck, check out edX.
Also, it’s helpful to talk to faculty and staff to find out if there are courses they’d be willing to provide for your class. Sometimes they’re happy to “grant” free teaching time if they know their stuff.

Try Introduction to Programming
In this course, we’ll teach you how to build an interactive web app, starting with the basic concepts. Along the way, we’ll teach you the fundamental components of web programming (html, css, javascript, jquery, and mysql) so that you know how to build a real-world web project. If you have basic programming knowledge, you’ll be able to tackle this course and a wide range of more advanced web programming projects. You’ll be comfortable with the major programming languages used in web development, and you’ll be able to take a project from start to finish.
We’ll be using Scrivener, a text editor and publishing tool, and CodeAcademy, a very active online learning environment, to teach you how to design your own web projects. The course is divided into two phases. During the first, you’ll learn the basic elements of web design and interactivity (html, css, and javascript) to build a two-column blog post web page. You’ll then apply this knowledge to create a more interactive website with registration, login, a gallery, and external content feeds.
Open Source Projects
Here are a few open source projects made by my academic colleagues. These are freely available to study and may also be used for open source projects (if you have the time and the knowledge). Each course is a little bit different. The first is a course in Python web programming. The second is a database intro class.
The game requires 2 GB of RAM to play.
Windows 7+ and Mac OS X 10.7+
Internet connection and Steam account are required to install and play the game.
