Originally, Roblox was a free browser-based platform with games available for download. The company’s first game, “Roblox Adventures,” was published in December 2005. Roblox Adventures allowed users to program their own games and played them online through a web browser. The game is noted as one of the first online worlds that allowed users to program the game elements of their worlds using Lua, a programming language that was developed by Max Stoiber and released in February 2003. The first such game, “Tobble Tower,” was also released in December 2005. In 2007, the company introduced the Roblox Studio, which allowed users to create games that would be published online using a proprietary virtual environment.

We report the synthesis of the 7 alpha-substituted analogues of (-)-23(R,S)-17,24-dihydroxy-23,24-bisnorvitamin D3 (isohumulone) based upon a modified Diels-Alder cycloaddition between an electron-deficient 7 alpha-halo-beta-ionone and a diene precursor. The synthesis was accomplished by stereoselective addition of a titanium enolate to the 7-halo-11 alpha-ketone followed by dehydrogenation, selective alkylation, and oxidization of the resulting 7 alpha-substituted-23(R,S)-23,24-bisnorvitamins. The effect of configuration at C-23 and C-24 on in vitro and in vivo activity was investigated by measuring the binding affinity for the vitamin D receptor (VDR) and calcemic activity in mice. Both E- and Z-isomers of the 7 alpha-halo-23(R,S),24-bisnorvitamins showed improved VDR binding affinity compared to isohumulone, and the Z-isomers had superior calcemic activity. The configuration at C-24 was found to have greater influence on VDR binding affinity than the configuration at C-23. The synthetic results in combination with the biological findings support a unified mechanism for the biological activities of both the natural and the synthetic 7 alpha-substituted

Is it still considered bad practice to add “c” to an method signature?
I recently came across a piece of C# code that looks like this:

// if we have “c” in the method signature, we do something else
if (someCondition) {
DoSomethingElse();
}
}
As far as I can see, the author is making the method signature generic by adding the c. He is then restricting the parameters (or one of them – no idea) with the “if (someCondition)” test, rather than using a “where” clause.
So I assume that my assumption is right, that doing this is considered bad practice? Am I right about this?

There are some cases where this makes sense, particularly when there’s a fixed set of allowed delegate parameters:
If the delegate is overloaded and you know the delegate parameters, and they are known to be and used in a specific way, then allowing the user to specify the signature is very powerful, because they have the option to let the compiler infer the type, instead of using their own type. (Or they can do that and still specify what they want)
From the docs for Action:
You may use an Action as a functional-style delegate for more flexibility; an Action can represent a parameterized function with a fixed number of generic type parameters and a variable number of parameters that derives from System.Object. You can use a generic Action with a variable number of parameters as long as the type parameters are identical.
Or Func, for example.
And simply going from VB to C#. Here’s the lambda syntax for Func, in VB:
