Apply background css to each button in listview

I’m trying to style buttons on each listview row in a listview, but I just can’t get it to work.
I need to use styles instead of inline styles, but any styles that I define in my css file won’t get applied. I’ve tried implementing the code in JS as well, but the same issue happens.
