you have a fully working modem. the qmi_wwan driver isn’t recognizing the pattern as a sierra device. you should try to find a qmi capable driver for it. qmi is the communication protocol used by sierra devices.

okay, that means that the kernel needs to actually match the modem (and the sierra driver matches the modem when run under “normal” boot) but it is in a firmware mode where the sierra modem is not loaded and the modem appears as a sierra serial device

that is the correct behavior. if you try to use a sierra serial device (qc serial, usb-serial, etc) for a sierra modem, it will not work. if you try to use a device for a hupa modem, it will work. there are two things to note here: a) the sierra firmware does not match the hupa modem firmware, so this is correct b) the sierra serial driver does not try to match the modem firmware. it only matches the sierra serial driver.

no, it is missing the wrong interface. the sierra serial driver has different interfaces for the sierra modem and the sierra serial devices. it implements only the interface for the sierra serial devices.

hi, i just downloaded your modems drivers, and it says that there is already a driver for my modem. i also have a version 2 modem. i have tried to get the modem to work with easymodem, but it’s not working. i have tried the newer drivers, but i can’t find a “usb” folder in my modem. does anyone know where i can find it?

hi, can anyone help me please? i’ve just gotten a huawei k2600 e-mtp modem, and when i tried to get it working, i’ve had problems. i’ve tried installing the driver, but i can’t find a “usb” folder. i’ve tried the one from globetrotter hsupa modem driver page, but i can’t find it on my computer. i’m using windows 8.1.

I just want to mention here that I tried to do the same thing on my Pentium (4) M, 1 GB of RAM, Windows XP and it’s taking hours and hours to Find a modem, especially since the driver on the website is for a Nokia 3650, not my Nokia Booklet 3G.Here’s the log file after the download and the installation, this is the modem that is not recognized, the one that I am trying to make this work for:
Searching the internet I found an update for the latest firmware. However, the world of modems is a constant moving target. I can only guess what the code was before, and I will assume the same code is required when the modem is controlled by file transfers through /sys/class/usb_modeswitch/modem_id. It is just not working. However, in the interim I have released a.deb with an updated firmware that will work for the Nokia Booklet 3g. For the record, this is the one I use on my own phones.

I have confirmed that the MBIM module works with these Nokia modems using uname -r. The updated firmwares do not change the device ID, so they should work with the same MBIM module. Whether they work with the Hsupa modems from a different manufacturer is not yet tested.
