this is a collection of over one thousand loops, one shots, and presets from the classic synthi akai mks-2000 analog synthesizer. the collection is organized into folders which are organized by type of sample – loops, drums, piano, chords, organs, arps, leads, and more.

a collection of over 400 one-shots, all recorded on a roland r09 modular synthesizer. organized into categories including bass, acid, lead, orchestral, synth, and more. each set has default settings for each category and with a little tweaking you can create a unique track.

it’s only fitting that this sample pack is drum-oriented. every drum in this kit is custom recorded with the e-mu sp-1200, a sampler that delivered the best drum samples for years. heavy knee-buckling kick drums, crushing snare drum snares, constant toms and brushes and a lop-sided hi-hat sound that any hip-hop or rap producer would be proud to use.

the pack has a few different folders; one folder is sorted by the sample’s gain setting. the gain settings range from -30 to 18. the e-mu sp-1200 is unique in the way it effects digital audio, most vstand au plugins out there have no affect or may even reduce the attack of a drum recorded to digital audio, hence the need for this pack.

sounds range from basssnares to rhodes toms and glocks. the snare is processed with the most gain, and the other sounds receive relatively little gain. this makes the kit sound darker, slightly greasy and powerful, which is the vibe i was going for, but the pitchshifted 707s almost add a different feel.the e-mu sp-1200 can trace its roots to the sp-555, an old yet still capable drum machine.
