rangeela gets excited, he jumps from the bike and goes to the market. there, rangeela meets a guy who says that he will give him 3000 per kilo if rangeela fills a bike with him. a market trader is the realtor. rangeela refuses and that is when the rest of the movie unfolds. the rest of the story is about how guddu and rangeela satisfy their lust by serving clients and, at times, even killing people in the name of honour.

they then seek the help of a few cops and a few days later after the incident, guddu is brought in front of a judge for cheating. guddu is then interrogated, and it is revealed that guddu and rangeela are imaginary twins who are being exploited.

an interesting part of guddu rangeela is when guddu and rangeela sing each others songs in collaboration. the duo is captured by a local chieftain, but the duo escapes and is picked up by a handsome guy. this is where the real problem begins for the duo. a cop goes to them and asks them about the way they run away from home. and this is the point at which guddu and rangeela become real.

the duo starts helping a gang of chieftains with their cases and then cops start looking for them. at one point, while they are at an interview, the duo sees a gang from the chieftain’s family. rangeela and guddu trick their way out. rangeela notices another gang, though, and the duo dont know which gang to run from. th e chase begins.

amitabh bachan came back in the hindi film industry after a prolonged absence. his movies werent that much in the topmost list of box office hits. when his movies do work, they work hard. the success of guddu rangeela hinges on how much you enjoy watching someone break the laws of logic. when it works, it works hard. if youre an action junkie, youll enjoy this, especially if youre in a mood for some hooliganism. this is a romantic-comedy-adventure-drama on the surface and yet it isnt. it is only when its over that you realise what the film is really about. its not that you arent aware of it; it is just that the movie is not afraid to say it. the difference is that in guddu rangeela, the statement is not a warning but a regret. the film isnt about the moral ambiguity, but the ethics of the world. its not about the lust for power, but the lust for money. its not about the lust for the hero, but the lust for love.
