I did the testing from Microsoft’s interactive training. To import anything, you must do it in “PC” mode. That way, it keeps working. If you want to test it from “Mac” mode, you must first close the application, then reopen it. Then you will be able to test all the various commands. Be sure to test whenever you encounter a malfunction, on a known new image, before running a batch of images you haven’t seen before.

Doing all this testing took a week for me, and I have spent a LOT of time in Photoshop. Importing Web images (input path or FTP location) is far too cumbersome, and works very differently from what a Mac user expects. I spent way too much time working around this issue, including a new feature that would allow for a conversion to the Jpg format when the image was imported. This improvement definitely made for a smoother workflow, but it wasn’t enough to balance the work that was required. For the love of a piece of software, do not import an image through an FTP server! Photoshop will not work right if you do not have account data stored locally. Well, I guess it’s temporarily the only software that can not import into Playbale and all the other apps now work that way. But Photoshop could have implemented this feature.

If your images are more than 1920 pixels wide, or more than 3200 pixels tall, and if your file sizes are too large, make sure that you have “Maximum” quality images, otherwise, you may not be able to view your images on screens where the resolution is lower. Such example is an Apple TV. This clearly points to the fact that a Google TV solution would be more appropriate. If one wants to be able to view images on anything, I guess, they have to invest in this Google TV solution. Don’t get me wrong. I like the iOS and Android apps on my iPhones and Tablets, and I use them to view my images easily. Also I mean the Google smart TV app, not the old Sony TV app, since I don’t even own a Sony TV.
