Inbox Notifier is an open-source program that runs in the system tray and displays desktop notifications whenever you receive new Gmail messages. It allows you to check your inbox easily and even makes it simpler to write new messages.
Novice-friendly app that can be configured effortlessly
The setup process is very straightforward. Once you have installed the program, you only need to provide your Gmail credentials and allow the application to manage your account. Your data will be synchronized, and you will be able to check your inbox directly from the system tray.
The application will be launched automatically at system startup, but you can change this behavior if you prefer. The initial Gmail account can also be replaced with a different one at any time.
Receive desktop notifications without using a browser
Inbox Notifier checks your Gmail account for updates at a regular interval, which can be customized. When you receive a new message, a notification is displayed in the system tray area, with or without a sound alert. You can specify whether the message content should be displayed in the notification and what should happen when it is clicked.
Additionally, it is possible to disable these notifications for a specified amount of time. If you don’t want to be disturbed when working on something important or just relaxing, this is a very useful feature.

How can you access Inbox Notifier
Inbox Notifier is a superb app to customize Gmail notification on the desktop. Once downloaded and installed, the user can customize the number of Unread/Starred/Draft messages displayed on the system tray of the computer. This can be set on the preferences or by clicking the cog wheel icon located on the system tray.
The number of allowed Gmail messages displayed on the system tray is adjustable. It can be set by the user to one, three or five. The number is default to one, but can be changed to another value by the user through the options available in the application.
The type of notifications to be displayed is also customizable and can be set to desktop notification, sound notification, pop up alert and others. These types can be selected by the user through the options provided to them when the application is started.
How to access/ download Inbox Notifier
To access Inbox Notifier, you need to browse to the Google Chrome web store and search for “Inbox Notifier”. Once you get to the download page, click on “Add to Chrome”. After this, click on “Chrome App Store”. From there, you will click on “Install” to begin installing. Once this is done, you will be able to access Inbox Notifier from the “Tools” menu in Chrome.

Inbox Notifier is an official Chrome app which is available on the Chrome Web Store. Once it has been downloaded, the user will have to sign in with their Google ID and it will be installed successfully.
Inbox Notifier Settings:
With the help of Inbox Notifier, you can configure your Gmail account in different ways. Among other things, it supports tweaking the list of starred messages as well as number of unread emails to be displayed on the tray area.
The user can also select or un-select the checkbox option and select the amount of unread emails to be displayed in the system tray. All these options can be changed in the settings provided in the “Options” menu.
The total number of unread emails and starred messages to be displayed can also be customized. You can adjust the allowed amount of emails and stars by changing the values in the options tab.
