microchip, it was my understanding that you were going to be releasing a beta of the c compiler that was going to include the new fpu as well as the other new features that the c compiler has to offer. i have been using the xc8 for a few years, and i have been looking forward to the release of the c compiler, but i am still not seeing any evidence of the beta of the c compiler. i have tried to find this information on the xc8 user group site, but i have not been able to find it. in my frustration, i have been googling trying to find the information and i am getting a lot of old posts with references to the c compiler as v2.0, which is the current version of the xc8 c compiler. to make matters worse, i have found that the beta is due out on the 20th of this month, and i have searched for that date and i have not been able to find it. i am getting a lot of posts that talk about the compiler, but i am not finding anything about the beta of the compiler. is there a beta of the new c compiler available? if so, where can i find it?

i am attempting to run the xc8 on a mac. i have downloaded the c compiler from the following link: microchip xc8 c compiler and after installing the compiler as per the following instructions: downloading the xc8 i did a search for xc8, and it turns out that the xc8 is available as a free version, but i am still looking for a way to get the debugger working on my mac. i am using a mac book pro with the following specs: macbook pro any ideas on how i can get the debugger to work on my mac?

if you are developing code for any of microchips 8-bit mcu devices and you wish to upgrade your toolset to include the new version of mplab xc8 c compiler, there are several options available to you. note in the following suggestions that whenever mentioned, v4.2 or later of the mplab x ide must be run in order to build with the v2.0 mplab xc8 compiler and have access to its new features.
