Adobe has been experimenting with Sketch since 2017, and the free version is now a permanent part of Platform Services to support its work. The company announced plans in June to release a Pro version sometime this year. In July, Adobe sold its Marc Andreessen-led Andreessen Horowitz fund’s first investment: Sketch and the new Creative Cloud. These tools “put tools into the hands of creatives, and the power of all those tools is something that a subscription service does not afford,” Adobe’s then-CEO said.
