A recent version of Adobe Photoshop CS6 for macOS offered two AI applications: AutoPilot and Adobe Sensei. The two behaved in a similar way. The user gave the application the task to accomplish; in this case, to create a new document from a still. Then, the AI software did the rest. You can now create AI-powered processes in Photoshop. This process is controlled from the actions panel (an extension to Actions in Photoshop CS6). The user starts with a ‘draw a document’ action, and then applies various filters and gradients to that initial document. The filters and gradients are overseen by AI, and the user only needs to specify the settings for the desired output. After the AI kicks in, it automatically applies the original document settings.
The Actions panel in Photoshop can also be used to control AI services. Once a user has created the desired actions, they can be converted to Jetpack actions. You simply have to go to the menu panel, either in the top left or in the menu bar. After that, it’s just a matter of selecting the bag of the desired service or package, and you can activate the process.
Up until this point, Photoshop has been available only to Creative Cloud members who upgraded to the latest version, which automatically installed the new application. Members who did not find the time, available bandwidth, or Windows compatible operating system to upgrade had to learn a new skill or master a technology they had no stake in, namely, digital painting.
