Adobe now supports the new DNG RAW formats. I have been using DNG for a long time, but I wish Photoshop had handled RAW type 1 a bit better. Although stripping off extraneous metadata and doing automatic white balancing was a great move, Photoshop has been at best uneven about exposing RAW type 2 metadata, skipping entirely to RAW type 3.

Full control over the tone curve is now available for RAW images with the Update Tone Curve dialog. Similar to the point-by-point tone curve adjustment in the Layers panel, the new dialog can quickly and easily animate many curves, moving them along the curve, the curve’s midpoint, and the gradient. The new dialog is especially useful when the raw image has a gradient that extends to the edges or a large midtone area.

With the Grading panel, Photoshop users can look up the history of any path and see the color progression in detail and understand the shifts in hue, saturation, and value in the path. The new panel is particularly useful when working with paths that change hue or saturation.

Almost all Linux users have never used any other operating system. Sometimes these users prefer that operating system and do everything in Linux. There are much more important things to take care of than operating system upgrades. The computer could crash, there could be viruses, the operating system could start encrypting your files without your permission, your browser could start working, your next-door neighbor could kick down your door, or an even greater awfulness could occur. A marquee selection only selects the pixels within the area of the selection – meaning that it connects the pixels of the region together. The original pixels from the layer are still intact, so they’re not overwritten. Therefore, when we try to make an edit to the shape layer, Photoshop can’t understand the pixels in the area selected as the shape, which means it can’t understand how to edit it.

How To Create A Fill
In the Fill dialog box, you can select one of the 16 predefined gradient fills that Photoshop has created. To create your own gradient, you can use more than the 16 predefined colors or create your own custom gradient from any of the colors in your image, ranging from a single color right up to over a dozen colors.

Photoshop CS6 has a new tool called Filmstrip. This plug-in adds a small Filmstrip window to the right of the main window so you can preview your image before you flatten the layer. When you are in Camera Raw, you can add the Film Strip window to any image in the picture window. You can also resize the Film Strip window to make it appear the size of the image window.

To set up the file browser, first open the Photoshop file browser dialog box (File > Browse), which lists all the files currently open in the current document. Select the file or folder that you want to move into the folder that you’ve selected in the list. Then press Enter, or select the Move to Folder option, to move the selected file to the new folder. There are tons of new features being worked on: 3D, advanced modes, Lens Correction, Real-Time rendering, TFX, Smart Stitching, and On-Camera JPEG preview. Lastly, Auto Layer Mask was introduced. This detects an image’s layers and applies a mask to those layers for a dramatic effect. With supports for nine different filter types, and almost limitless ways to combine them, Photoshop CS is still a heavyweight when it comes to features, and now it’s even stronger. To date, it now supports up to 62 layers and 32,000 pixels.
