## The Aims of Photoshop
When you open an image in Photoshop, you open it for a specific purpose. Photoshop enables you to edit images, and you don’t need to know the implications of your editing choices. You open an image for specific tasks such as correcting color, removing a background, correcting an image’s exposure, etc.
As the name “Photoshop” implies, you start with an image and create it, crop it, manipulate it, and enhance it. You can do all these processes in the same editing session.
In addition to these general-use techniques, Photoshop offers more specialized image editing tasks such as creating logos, retouching skin, and creating a digital cartoon from a digital photograph.

# The Blending Modes
There are three major blending modes in Photoshop: Multiply, Add, and Overlay. These modes are used to combine an image layer with other layers in the same image, or to blend an image layer with the background.
Blending modes are used to combine the new material with the existing material, which allows you to modify the colors of one layer to gradually blend into another. You can change colors, modify the opacity of an image, and make complex geometric forms. You can see an image in a blend mode that you have created.
Adobe Photoshop displays your image’s layers as a rainbow blend mode. The layers in your image are represented from lightest to darkest as layer 1, layer 2, etc.

## A Bigger Company
As a growing program, Photoshop has had to make some changes to accommodate the changes in the world. It now supports working in layers of pixels and it supports adjustments and opacity. Layers can be nested and you can have multiple overlays.
There is now a feature to “Photomerge” images, which enables you to place multiple images together and create new images with the edited images. This can be used to create artistic pieces that look like a picture or drawing on canvas.
Photoshop does not do layers as Photoshop used to in earlier versions, but it does offer you a wide range of tools and features for doing very complex and precise edits.

Tye Fields, who plays “Norrie” in the public television drama based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books (which brought us the movie starring Laura Linney and Chris Pine), says he was offered the role of the “albino” young man who is befriended by the blonde child’s parents, played by Annie Potts and Andrew Keegan, as they try to show her “the ways of the world”.
Fields says the director, Dennis Gassner, told him he would also be playing a family friend in scenes where he is only present in the background, who the cast and crew nicknamed “Little Pete”. Difference between “reflection” and “referring”
Below is a paragraph of mine, in which I have to explain the difference between reflection and referring. I am struggling to provide explanation, because I feel they mean the same thing.
In many cases, referring to existing objects is the common approach.
The Burn and Dodge tools used to darken or lighten, respectively, an area of an image. They can also be used to add and remove blemishes, scratches and other unwanted marks from a photo.
The Healing Brush tool allows you to select a cloned area and repair its edges with the original area. You can also recover holes and cracks with the Clone Stamp tool.
The Spot Healing Brush tool lets you select a healing spot and quickly repair areas of the same color. You can use it for repairing eyes, teeth, and other blemishes.
The Smudge tool is useful for removing or adding dust, smudges, and smears from the surface of the photo.
The Magic Wand tool is used for selecting areas in an image. You can also select different types of objects and do other common operations.
The Rectangular Selection tool allows you to make precise selections of specific parts of an image.
The Eraser tool is used to remove portions of an image. You can erase objects or adjust the size of the area you are erasing.
Use the Pathfinder panel to group multiple layers. Click the down arrow in the Pathfinder panel to reveal options to combine, split and merge layers.
The Pathfinder panel is also a useful tool for adding, subtracting, inverting, and rotating layers.
The Eraser tool helps you remove the blemishes and other unwanted parts from the surface of an image.
The Crop tool is used to correct the orientation of an image or crop a portion from one of the image sides. The Crop tool is great for fitting the image to a screen or for cropping on the go.
Blending modes allow you to apply a layer effect to a picture. The blending modes are applied while the picture is still in the editing process.
The Lens Correction tool allows you to align blurry photos. There are 13 different correction options available in the tool.
The Snapping tool is a powerful tool to help you align layer items or move them to more precise places in the image.
The Animation panel is used for adding and removing objects or adjusting their positions.
The 3D warp tool lets you create 3D images on any object. The 3D warp tool is useful for designing clothes, adding effects to a model, or creating fashion-inspired images.
The 3D view lets you easily see the result of the 3D warp tool. You can see the result in real-time as you change the setting.
