* _Can I get Photoshop for free?_
You can get free Photoshop CS4. Just visit the Adobe website, `www.adobe.com/products/photoshop`, and scroll down the left side. You’ll see a link for Photoshop Lightroom (see below). Click on that link and Photoshop will load up, along with some background information about Photoshop.
If you already have Photoshop CS3 or CS2, you can download and install Photoshop Lightroom from the same website. Like Photoshop, it’s a layer-based editing program with many tools for image enhancements. However, it’s primarily a tools for managing your digital images and has many helpful tutorials that teach users how to use the program’s features.
* _What programs are compatible with Photoshop?_
Photoshop works with your basic Windows image editor as well as most major graphics packages. The following graphics packages work with Photoshop:

* _What is Photoshop Lightroom?_
The other major program from Adobe is Lightroom. This program is a free, customizable, and highly-recommended editor for managing your digital images. Lightroom operates as a standalone program or can work in conjunction with Photoshop.
Lightroom can help you import your images, adjust color and tone, and perform other functions. Also, in contrast to Photoshop, Lightroom doesn’t work with the pixel-based raster images, but rather with Adobe’s proprietary PSD or Adobe RGB files (the latter of which produces images with greater accuracy).
Lightroom is a worthwhile investment if you are a serious photographer. See Chapter 11 for more about Lightroom.
* _How do I switch from Photoshop to Lightroom?_
This is not a simple task, as it entails a lot of data formatting, as well as deleting data from the original image and exporting a new image, which is quite time-consuming.
However, many programs have a “show image” option that lets you switch from one program to the next. In CS3 and CS2, this was a simply menu selection, which now you also need to open

How Does Photoshop Work?
Photoshop is a powerful tool to edit pictures. But, when compared to the Elements, you will find a lot of differences.
Photoshop is the most popular and most powerful photo editing software available. It is used by graphic designers, web designers, web developers, and photographers.
Adobe Photoshop is one of the most commonly used image editing software.
When you open Photoshop, you are in the main Editor window, where you will find lots of different tools.

There are three main window categories in Photoshop:
The main Editor window is where you will find all the tools to create or edit any type of graphics.
The Layers window is where you organize all the layers in your file.
The History and Media windows are used for managing layers and pasted images.
You can also create Graphics layers to use them on other layers. These graphics are included as palette layers.

When opening Photoshop, you will find in the main Editor window the following tools:

Post-burn contractures: current treatment strategies.
Burn injuries of the upper extremities have profound effects on the young patient. They interfere with normal growth and activities and can have a significant impact on an individual’s social and professional functioning. The most common contractures are flexion contractures of the elbows and wrists, and extension contractures of the forearms, hands, and fingers. A variety of treatment modalities are available for these contractures. Mobilization of the contracted joints allows the patient to maintain full range of motion and decrease discomfort and difficulties with activities. Exercise of the hands, wrist, and fingers exercises are essential for continued active range of motion. Corticosteroid injections are effective for correction of the contracture, but have a tendency to relapse once therapy is discontinued. Surgery may be required to prevent the need for amputation.In many technical fields, a test or measurement device performs a measurement and generates measurement data. To be able to use this measurement data for further processing, the measurement data generally needs to be analyzed. In order to carry out such an analysis, it is customary that a measurement device and an analysis tool are coupled to one another and a communication link between the measurement device and the analysis tool is established, a measurement object being supplied to the measurement device and to the analysis tool by means of the communication link. The measurement data generated by the measurement device is transferred via the communication link to the analysis tool for further processing. A suitable analysis tool may analyze the measurement data, for example, with the aid of a processor, and generate measurement result data. The Gradient Tool allows you to apply a gradient to a layer.
The Gradient Panel allows you to select and alter a gradient used by the Gradient Tool.
The Eyedropper tool can be used to select colors from the image.
The Text tool can be used for both editing and creating text.
The Paths Panel allows you to create and edit paths.
The Burn tool can be used for burning or fading out an area of an image.
The Rubber Stamp tool allows you to load a selection or path and create an area that looks like something was stamped over it.
The Fuzz tool can be used to create a texture similar to the stamp effect.
