Adobe also recently announced the new Photoshop Elements , which brings many of the best tools in Photoshop to the intuitive interface of Photoshop Elements. The new version also introduces a few new tools including Release, Merge to Layers, Adjust Sharpness, Adjust Saturation and Adjust Color.

The new version of Photoshop Elements introduces a host of new features. For example, the new Edit List function now allows you to edit a list of items, and the older feature of adding hashtags to images is now renamed “Retouch”. The new version also allows you to create just about any image you can imagine with color, brightness and contrast adjustments, invert images or hide items. Additionally, using the new edit drawer, you can make changes to users, styles and pictures, and attribute (or tag) items.

The new content-aware fill tool now works with layers within the same document. It’s essentially a fill that works with layers within a document – related to the content and the layer it’s on. It’s a new way to work with the new software, and it fulfills a gap that existed in previous versions of Photoshop.

Inside an image, there’s content on the photo that belongs to other images, such as a map layer or a background. The content-aware fill tool lets you take this content, and make it a separate layer in your document. You can even create a new layer and move it as content-aware content. When you use the new fill tool, the new content will pile on to your image or layer. You can take the content from this layer and then use that content as any other fill tool – giving you a huge number of possibilities and a huge range of options.

Another feature that hasn’t changed much is that of the Magnetic Lasso. And that’s about to change. The Magnetic Lasso is now Magnetic. You say what you want, and it’ll do everything possible to find it. The advanced features of the Magnetic Lasso have also been added to shape-based tools like the Profiles and the Pen. And the setting of the Magnetic Lasso has been improved. When you’re using the Lasso Tool, it becomes clear what the new magnetic workflow will do. The Magnetic Lasso gives people a choice in what tools they can use. If you want, you can select the traditional setting of the Lasso. Or switch to the magnetic workflow.

We’re going to update our existing 3D tools in Photoshop to the newer native APIs and to provide the best experience for our users. In the first step, we’re removing the legacy 3D tools and products, including the mesh features, the path features provided in 3D, including the Curvature tools, the Texel tool, the Bevel & Emboss tools and the Extrude & Bevel tools. New 3D features will be provided in a future release of Photoshop, including tools for working with 3D layers and objects, a 3D path feature, etc.

In finishing the Evil Twin update, we’re making some improvements to our new 3D tools in Photoshop, specifically the Lens Correction and 3D Filter tools. Lens Correction introduced in 2020.2 and 3D Filter in 2021.1 are both based a new native 3D GPU API and can be best used on faces or crazy-variety texture maps. We’ve been excited to see more artists jazzing up their designs with these tools. We hope to come back to these with more content, new 3D techniques, and more soon!

This year we’ve been looking closely at email marketing to better understand how customers organize, schedule, and create email messages. We’ve noticed there are a variety email-creation workflows for which there are no standards in the industry. So, we’ve decided to create a new standard for this process. We’ve named it “Direct Mail”.
