This tutorial will explore some of the photo manipulation techniques used in magazines today, including lens-correction techniques, clip-art manipulation, and digital halftone conversion.
Exposure Correction
Shopping a magazine can be frustrating for a new user because the text and images often appear to be more washed out than they really are. This common problem is best corrected by automating the basic exposure adjustment process. Adobe provides a handy Exposure dialog for manual exposure correction and choosing from a range of film-like gamma.
* To auto-balance exposure, click the Auto button. You can choose from a range of film-like exposure adjustments on the Exposure panel, such as LRG (low-range gray), LDR (high-range gray), and VLH (very high-range gray).
As shown in the figure, the data is collected from the whole image. You can choose Auto and click the Auto button to change the exposure accordingly.
You can do the same thing manually by clicking on the sliders in the Exposure panel.
Shopping Tip
The Matting panel has a selection of methods for matting images, such as Clipping, Gradient, Bevel, Round, and Intensity. There is a good tutorial in the Photoshop Help system. The Matting panel is often helpful in hiding background elements of an image. Here are some items to keep in mind when creating a mat.
Figure 3-7. With a high-contrast image like this one from a digital camera, the image will look more severe or harsh in the print. The uneven matting is the result of an uneven exposure. The skin tones are too bright and make the wall paper too dark. The wall paper itself is also too light and will wash out the high contrast. The solution is to change the overall exposure, which can be achieved in the Image>Adjustments>Auto>Exposure panel.
Double Exposure
You can shoot a double exposure of subjects that come close to each other. The technique is fairly easy to pull off in Photoshop.
* Pick the command tool ( ) or the Rectangle Select tool (M).
In the dialog that appears, pick the Rectangle Select tool (M). Now double-click a subject on your screen. Photoshop creates a selection between the two subjects. The dialog box opens with the rectangle selected.

In this post, we will be demonstrating the installation and basic usage of the Pro features of Adobe Photoshop on a Windows system.
1. Download the Adobe Photoshop Elements 2017 trial version from the below link
2. Install Adobe Photoshop Elements 2017 on your Windows machine
Download a trial version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2017 from here. Install it on your Windows machine. After installation, you will see a splash screen that explains how to use Photoshop Elements 2017 to help you get started.
Once you launch the Photoshop Elements 2017 application, it asks you to connect a camera or scanner. Click the “Connect” button and select the default entry (whichever one you have connected).
This will open a “Connect” window.
Click the “Close” button on the top right.
Click the “Files” icon on the left pane of the application.
Click the “Open” icon on the top right.
In the “Open” dialog box, navigate to the folder where your digital photo files are stored.
Click the “Open” button in the “Open” dialog box.
On the main panel of the application, click the “Import Pictures” option, as shown in the screenshot below.

A “Choose Files” dialog box will open.
Click the “Browse” button to browse to the folder where your images are stored.
The “Choose Files” dialog box will open.
Click the “Open” button.
You will see thumbnails of the images that are stored in the folder you selected.
Click the first image to select the image you want to open.
You will see the open image in the image editing software.
You can also quickly open an image by pressing the Alt+Enter keys on your keyboard. This will open the image in the editing software.
When the image is opened, you can crop the image by pressing the “C” key on your keyboard.
You can also click the “Layers” icon on the left pane of the application to access layers that are available in the image.

Photoshop has many different brushes, pens, textures, and tools that can be accessed by clicking them. For example, you can use the camera fill tool to quickly add a color to an image.
The eyedropper tool lets you select any color or color gradation from the image. It is a quick and easy way to change the background color, create contrast, and change color.
Other tools can be used to add details to the image, such as drop shadows, reflections, and reflections.
You can also use the image editor to adjust contrast, brightness, color, and saturation. You can also use this tool to alter the image’s size, create borders around images, and change the brightness of all of the images in the image.
You can also sharpen images by using the appropriate tool. You can round the corners or make the edge more sharp.

Although vector graphics have become more popular, they are still not commonly used in photos.
You can draw freely with the Pen tool or use any other brush.
Both versions of Photoshop have the ability to work with a wide variety of shapes, angles, and lines.

You can use the paint bucket tool to add colors to the canvas. You can select a color by clicking on the paint bucket tool and then clicking on any color in the picture.
The brush tool allows you to change the brush on the right side. The brush can be changed in various ways, such as the size, opacity, and texture. The previous figure shows the brush tool with a soft brush setting.

You can add effects such as sun flares, blurs, and waviness.
You can also change the brush size. In the previous figure, the brush size is increased.
