The story claims that Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who are both listed in FBI records as former agents, were responsible for taking the former director to a fundraiser for Democrat Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

The duo, who were romantically involved and assigned to special counsel Robert Mueller’s team investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, have been romantically linked to the political action committee of billionaire George Soros. They were among the approximately 20,000 FBI employees who were rehired under the Clinton order, which the House Judiciary Committee said may have represented “an unprecedented expansion of the FBI.”

Strzok was briefly assigned to Mueller’s special counsel investigation before the appointment of former FBI Director Jim Comey. Comey, who was criticized by Republicans for his handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, was later fired by Trump.

In June 2017, Judicial Watch released documents from the FBI showing that Strzok and Page were among the FBI agents involved in the bureau’s investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server while secretary of state.
