Stronghold 2 was developed by the Atlus company. The game was released in Japan on June 21st, 2010. About this time, Newgrounds released an initial build of the game called ”Soulstorm” (Stronghold 2) []. Stronghold 2 is available in a deluxe version. Stronghold 2 Deluxe features four new mission, two new maps, and weapons and items from the main game. Stronghold 2 and Dynasty Warriors 7 are available together in the ‘Master Edition’ The Dynasty Warriors series is more of a large action RPG game than a role-playing game.

The day I bought the Deluxe Edition version of Stronghold, the game installer would not install the game. It would just pop up the brief message “Problem with the plugin”, and that was it. Now I always check for updates on the Steam client, and the patch has been there for almost a year. I started the process of attempting to install the game over 10 times, and each time the client would pop up and ask if I wanted to install it. I would say yes, and each time the same thing would happen.

Installed the game on the hardware I had originally installed it on. Finally, after installing Stronghold 2.exe, I tried to play. I couldn’t. The game would load up, but it would not start. I tried running the game through safe mode, it wouldn’t start in safe mode either. Then I tried the stable mode. The same happened there. Then I tried another account. Again the same issue. So I did some further reading around the web. What I read wasn’t encouraging; I read that there was a recent update that changed the.ini files for the game. A lot of people were having issues with that update, so I assume I would too if I didn’t already have the original version.
