this is the most basic version of the 3rd game but with all the enhancements listed above which makes it useful for the purpose of comparing the differences from all the other versions of the 3rd game.

as a refresher the differences are:

jalucian, one of the most corrupt, power hungry and powerful members of the council, wants to take control of the world. he stands for the corruption of the council and he commands the greek soldiers. his weapon of choice is a machine gun, but he is also proficient with a spear and gun with grenades. his elephant and mechanical motorcycle are his go-to vehicles. fortunately for the hero, he doesn’t have a base of operation. he is only concerned with stealing and having more power.

we start off in a park where a lot of political intrigue and political balancing is going on. however, jalucian has noticed a traitor, and he has some orders for the hero. your mission is to bring jalucian’s target into the open. the player is not meant to interact with the people around, but he should execute close-range or long-range attacks in order to keep the commander’s attention. if you see him, kill him.

the mission area is always slightly changing, but it’s always set in a fairytale town or street. for example: in a toy store or a movie theater. players will usually be able to find one of the three other playable characters, namely gabe, lawrence, or zack, but not all characters are present in the game. both lawrence and gabe are meant to be healers, lawrence is slightly stronger than gabe. however, both are completely useless in this mission.

when the.naked.gun was first made in 1994, it’s only goal was to make a movie about a hulking naked guy who fights in office park back alleys, and it did so to a tune of $52.7 million (that’s billion with a “b”). a second film followed in 1996, which while a success, was nothing compared to the third film, 2001’s the. gun. 2: locked. &.bullet . because that last one was an unmitigated disaster. but perhaps nobody knew that at the time, because the sequel was marketed like it was a much more important and interesting movie than it is. the two sequels, then a trilogy , have each relied on the “functions” of the original to produce a story with a few minor variations on the “gun in the front of the bar, bullets everywhere” plot. what the hell? like, why?! they could have had some plausible back story or some complex plot elements and we would be none the worse off, but they didn’t. if you’re going to make a series out of something like this, make it worth watching. or, don’t make it at all. but then, why would you?
it’s a pretty good trilogy if you’re a purist, though. the first part features what is likely the best pratfall of all time, culminating in a scene where the ridiculous villain dives out of the balcony with a tommy gun and pays the price for his undertaking and his stupidity by the side of a dumpster. this doesn’t stop people from buying the dvd of the trilogy, though, based on the desire to watch a guy fall off things into garbage bins.
this is a re-transfer of a 2004 dvd-r 2-disc set, which is technically newer than the 2009 blu-ray 2-disc set. on the other hand, it’s the first movie on this set, and the first movie may be a little cleaner on this dvd.
